PCI is a unique service that offers counselling and psychological services to those whose lives are impacted by mental illness, relationship difficulties, and forensic issues. PCI applies an integrated approach that seeks to incorporate evidence based psychological practice with people's own spiritual journey to work toward wholistic wellbeing.

Many people value an opportunity to incorporate their personal faith framework into the therapeutic process. However, we also offer counselling and treatment for people of other faiths, and those with no religious affiliation. Our staff are qualified psychologists and counsellors who hold registration with the relevant regulatory agencies, and have a strong grounding in theology.
Services
The psychological service we provide varies according to the particular problem with which our clients present. We believe each client has strengths that can help them resolve problems or cope with problems effectively. However, at times our ability to cope becomes overwhelmed, either because of the magnitude of difficulty that we are facing, or because some of our usual coping mechanisms are not effective for the particular problem.
I approach my work in a person centred way - listening carefully and intentionally to an individual's story and how life has brought him or her to a particular place where support is needed to cope with a particular issue.

The personal attributes that I bring to therapy are my compassion and analytical thinking which, combined with my professional training and skills in CBT, ACT, psychodynamic and Biblical Narrative therapy, enable me to work holistically with clients to meet their goals in counselling.
Our approach to working with people is informed by evidence-based psychological theory. The rich tapestry of stories contained in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures provides an additional lens through which we explore stories. Therefore, we have a strong focus on the value of each person and how we can live more effectively in community with respect and love.
If you or someone you know has been struggling with unwanted sexual urges, or has committed a sexual offence, we are able to help. The Men Taking Responsibility program is designed for men over 18 years of age who have offended or who believe they may offend against children. Group and individual treatment is available.
The Pastoral Counselling Institute offers support and information lunches and forums, not too large, and a safe place for partners or relatives to share and listen to some of their experiences, and to be supported by each other. It is specifically for partners or relatives with a close relative/friend who has committed a child sex offence.
