Willow Tree Counselling service is a specialised counselling service for people who have experienced Trauma and Attachment issues and other difficult life experiences. My name is Teresa Wilkinson and I am a Psychologist. Willow Tree Counselling is a safe place where you will be warmly welcomed and listened to and where we can explore what has brought you to counselling.
I will develop a personalised response to your specific counselling issue. Your thoughts and feelings will be accepted and every effort will be made to understand your current situation. Counselling is a place where people talk about their worries and get help in understanding and managing traumatic experiences and other difficult experiences.

Services
When traumatic or difficult things happen in our lives, we are changed from these experiences. It can be difficult to move on with our life and to lead the type of life we would like to. Sometimes we feel stuck, sad, angry, confused and overwhelmed.
At times our bodies respond to traumatic or difficult experiences in ways that we don't understand or leave us feeling confused and out of control such as having nightmares, flashbacks to events, having body sensations that make us feel like the event is occurring now when it is not (body memories), feeling uptight, irritable, anxious, sad, hyper-vigilant, panicked, feeling like hurting your body; by cutting, burning, purging, starving etc, experiencing intrusive images, thoughts, feelings, feeling like dying, to name a few.

The willow tree's ability to not only survive, but thrive in some of the most challenging conditions and it's prolific ability to grow, taking root from a branch that has fallen into some marshy bog. In all the willow reminds us to take heed of this lesson: Keep growing and reaching higher no matter where you are planted (Celtic Willow Tree, Avia Venefica).

Unfortunately I was told that I couldn’t keep coming after a year of going. This is the worst thing to do to someone who has experienced trauma and abandonment and left me worse off than I was to begin with, and destroyed my trust in psychologists. I feel that someone who specializes in trauma should know not to do this. I also wasn’t given any referrals to any other psychologists or help with finding a new psychologist.
