Kallahra Child Care Centre sits at the base of the beautiful Mt Archer in North Rockhampton and is licensed for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. The Centre is fully accredited and fitted with air conditioning. All educators at the Centre either hold the required child care qualifications or are studying towards them.
Most have been at the Centre for many years and are committed to providing quality education and care. Educators believe, "play" is central to children's development and the curriculum is based on the "Early Years Learning Framework". Kallahra provides morning and afternoon tea and along with sunscreen, tissues and nappies these services are provided at no extra cost to families.

Services
By now most of you will have met your child's teachers but there are many staff at our centre that you will see everyday so we thought we would give you a quick rundown. Early Childhood Teacher Kindy Group / Assistant Director, has a Diploma in Children's Services. Studying Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching).
K Knowledge- of children and families helps build the foundation for us to enhance children's learning. AL All children- are supported to be strong and capable and develop their own identity through positive experiences with educators, peers and the environment.
L Learning Environments- are developed through partnerships with educators, children, families, Learning Frameworks and the community to encourage children's activity and build on their existing knowledge.A Agency-children are able to make choices and decisions and fully participate in and influence their own learning.

At Kallahra our educators collaborate with school age children to provide play and leisure opportunities that are meaningful to them and support their wellbeing, learning, and development. School age children at Kallahra have choice and control over their learning as they collaborate with educators to extend their life skills and develop dispositions towards citizenship.
