You can view a wide range of building materials displayed in real world settings in our incredible timber flooring showroom. Draw on the knowledge and experience of our friendly staff 7 days a week. For over 30 years we have been supplying, laying, sanding and polishing solid timber floors and we take pride in every job.
Solid timber strip flooring is designed to be laid directly onto joists, battens, particleboard or plywood on concrete. Precision milled at 19mm to 21mm in thickness, with board widths from 80mm to 180mm. Solid timber floors are the perfect option for sports floors, residential homes and commercial properties.
All timber grading is done visually by qualified graders at the timber mill. Graders are looking for machining quality, the size and number of features in the timber flooring, and any flaws. Graders do not grade on colour - timber is a natural product and there is always colour variation. Timber flooring is normally separated into different grades at the machining stage.
Timber floor sanding and polishing is equally as important, as choosing the right flooring. A skilfully sanded and polished floor that has high quality products used on it will look amazing and last a very long time. Sanding and polishing is skill that is attained over a long period of time and having the right skill set and machinery is imperative to a successful outcome.
Today more than at any other time there is an unending list of choices, with solid timber flooring, engineered timber floors, laminates, decorative concrete, tiles, vinyl, carpets and more. For example it would not make sense to put carpet or timber into a bathroom, as the moisture will probably affect both in a negative way, however decorative concrete or tiles will perform very well.

Wonderful expansive showroom with heaps to see. Disappointed with the lack of attentiveness. Sales person was so disinterested that it was uncomfortable.

This is the second time we have used Connollys for our flooring. Their quality of timber and workmanship is nothing short of outstanding! Craigs knowledge is unmatched and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Brendan his son sanded and polished and his passion for his work was inspiring. We had our floors done by another company and the quality just wasn't there. We made the decision to go to Connolly's to rectify the issues as we were getting no where with the other company. We had our spotted gum flooring installed just over a year ago and we are delighted with it. With three children we needed something hard wearing and this flooring has proved its resilience and looks beautiful. Craig and his team at Connollys offered excellent advice on the different types of flooring to suit our needs and were very accommodating fitting in around our renovations which did not always run according to plan! The installation team were also excellent and made a challenging job look easy. We are returning now to get our outside decking. Thanks again, Caroline
