Just Old Flooring
Rick and Val Venn began Just Old Flooring in 1995, working from our Reynolds Road, Research property. This was a delight to our customers, who enjoyed the hills, horses and kangaroos and our Heeler dog "Ash". Rick has gradually made improvements to the factory. We have laid sample floors in the showroom to display the wide variety of our stock to its best advantage.

Rick has spent 40 years in the building industry, and his knowledge and experience is of inestimable value to those customers who want advice or who just call in for a chat about their future building plans. After having built Just Old Flooring and operating for 19 years, Rick and Val have decided to hang the boots up and retire.
Services
Just old Flooring has a large selection of recycled timber flooring which has been sourced from existing houses, schools, churches and warehouses. We lift the floors, de-nail, dock, pack up in house-lots and then sell on. We specialise in sourcing unusual sized boards and helping our customers match their existing floor.
Blackbutt is one of the most common species of hardwood available. It is from the coastal region of New South Wales from Bega on the south coast up to Queensland. Its colour ranges from golden yellow to light brown, sometimes with a slight pinkish hue. It's name came about from the effects on its lower trunk, which is dramatically darkened after a bushfire.
Brush Box timber is an Australian hardwood that has long been sought after for its unique properties and aesthetic qualities. It grows along the edges of the rainforest areas of New South Wales and Queensland. Brush Box timber is durable with a high density, which provides good resistance to splintering and wear.
Messmate is a well-known Australian hardwood. Messmate is a hardwood grown in Tasmania and Victoria and New South Wales and southern Queensland. Its colours vary from light pale browns to pale yellows with vibrant specs of peach. It is a species with an even texture. Messmate timber has moderate strength and hardness and is rich in detail and beautiful growth rings.
Spotted Gum is one of Australia's premium native hardwoods. It is the common name for four species of trees that are found on the east coast of Australia, from northeast Victoria to the northern Queensland. The ever-popular Spotted Gum timber is known for its vibrant colour palette and attractive markings.

Very responsive to my phone order and was able to organise sane day delivery which was terrific. The price for the flooring was the highest in Melbourne but they assured me the product was of the highest quality and would meet my specifications. Unfortunately the delivered product was low quality. Width of flooring was variable, 10% of the delivery was shorts and over 15% of the delivery was warped.
I rang to discuss and they lectured on the nature of 150yo wood that shrinks over time and every pack always contains shorts, some warping and reduced width timber.
So if you want to pay the top price
