Shindo Karate
Here at Shindo Karate Association we believe in keeping the tradition of Karate, while incorporating the newest training and fitness techniques. Each instructor has their own style of teaching and each instructor has a proven history of producing excellent black belts. Instructors achieve this through the teaching of self defence, self discipline and self confidence.

If you're a parent of a child you feel lacks confidence or you are simply wanting to get active, we at Shindo have the desire to help you achieve those goals. All Shindo classes are designed for all fitness levels and ages where you feel comfortable and enjoy your training and improved fitness. Students see a vast improvement in their strength, speed, focus and fitness as they continue their journey in the dojo.
Services
Since 1978 we have operated in and around Melbourne producing some of the finest world class Black Belts and Champions in the country. Shindo Karate (the way of the free spirit) was born from a desire to teach quality karate in a stimulating and friendly environment suited to young children up to adults of all ages.
Your little ninja will become a better student at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future. The Little Ninjas Program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on developing the basic motor and listening skills in children aged 4-6yrs. These skills will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook.
Your child will develop skills that will not only benefit them in Karate but at home, on the playing field and at school. Shindo Karate Association has been helping Kids achieve confidence, fitness and focus that extends far beyond the Karate Dojo. Our aim with the Shindo juniors classes are to provide a fun yet disciplined approach to karate while building fitness and confidence that you will notice and admire in your child.
Classes for adults are held in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The Instructors and other students will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Rather than a disciplined physical training regime, we aim to promote an environment of support and self motivation. Students range from teenagers and young adults through to adults in their 50's.
Karate begins and ends with courtesy and respect. You are required to bow whenever you enter or exit a class. Bowing is a show of respect to the hall (Dojo) you train, and to your fellow students and your instructors. It is also a courtesy to bow to your training partners before and after an exercise.

Our family have been a part of Shindo Karate for approximately 7 years. We would highly recommend the club to anyone. The instructors and staff promote discipline, self respect and respect to others. A great family to be a part of. My boys have flourished since joining, and even convinced me to give it go. Couldn’t recommend more highly 👍

Our family has been apart of Shindo for the past 8 years and cannot praise them enough!! My son has a deep respect for the instructors and they are pretty much our second family! Without the office staff, I would have absolutely no idea of comps, gradings etc. they keep me updated and nothing is ever a problem!! Highly recommend this club!

An amazing club that becomes just as much a family. Wonderful with the kids from little, all the way through to teens and beyond, developing not only karate skills but leadership, respect, resilience, and more. Amazing opportunities for those who show ability and interest in competing, with the best Sensei and coaches and the club regularly doing exceptionally well at competitions. And great for adults to have a go at karate too!

Do not recommend at all, absolutely rude receptionist and crapy teachers with kids who think they are all up them self.
