Maintenance of the health of your gums is the bedrock of a healthy mouth. No matter how fancy a crown you put on a tooth, if that tooth is supported by diseased and failing gums, trouble is sure to follow. Stkildadentist prides itself on the thoroughness of its cleans and the monitoring and treatment of periodontal conditions.
One of the strongest long-term solutions to restore a tooth back to its full function and appearance, a crown is where approximately 1 to 2 mm of your tooth structure or existing filling is removed, and the remaining tooth structure overlaid with a cast porcelain or metal crown that mimics the shape of your tooth.
Root canal therapy is a procedure to try and retain a tooth in the mouth when the nerve has died or is dying, restoring the tooth to function. Although there are several options to replace failed teeth, it is generally accepted that the retention of your natural teeth, even if heavily restored with a root canal and a crown, is the preferred option in favourable conditions.

Booked this dentist as I had recently moved and needed one close to home. Booked for the new client special and was charged $250 for a checkup and clean instead of $99 as explained on website. Staff should have explained costs if this did not include full checkup and clean prior. Im not very happy and will not be returning as I feel very ripped off. Experience with dentist was good.

Cannot recommend St Kilda Dentist enough! I'm naturally very nervous whenever I have to attend the dentist, but the staff including Juls and Liz are so lovely and really went out of their way to put me at ease! Dr Chan especially was very gentle and informative, and walked me through the process making sure I was comfortable every step of the way.

The last dentist I went to did nothing but boost my stress levels when it came to significant work I needed done (4 x wisdom teeth extraction + a root canal). He had no people skills and didn’t bother taking any real time to explain what I needed and why. After that experience it took me far too long (4 years) to give someone else a second chance. St Kilda Dentist was recommended to be by a friend of a friend that had nothing but good things to say about Leigh and his team. My first appointment w Leigh was such a different experience!!!! Super easy to book an appointment online or over the phone

I have been a patient at St Kilda Dentist for several years, and despite sometimes having gone for painful procedures, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Lee, Juls and Liz and the rest of the team are complete professionals and I always feel comfortable and well looked after.
Lee’s expertise makes the dental experience relaxed and calm- and the music, ceiling tv and fish tank add to the ambiance.

All the team at St Kilda Dentist are so good! I even convinced my partner to join and he is very picky who goes near his teeth! Lee is amazing, literally the most gentle and considerate dentist and all the other staff are so welcoming and friendly. Honestly, as far as dentists go, this was such a lucky find, i would recommend them to anyone.

I have been going to St Kilda Dentist for a few years now, and have been lucky enough to be looked after by Lee (dentist and owner) and Jules (dental assistant). They are a wonderful team! They are always so friendly, and they do what they can to make you feel comfortable and well-informed. I trust in this team completely - I know that they only suggest dental work that actually needs to be done/is in my best interests. Dr Lee is AMAZING! He is an incredible dentist! I had my 8 upper veneers replaced and he has completely transformed my smile. He is so kind and gentle and completely put my mind at ease.
