Dr. Jun Kim attained a Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Melbourne in 2007 and he is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA). Jun's special interest in science and medicine, as well as, the desire to utilize his hand skills to benefit others, all contributed in his decision to pursue his career in dentistry.
General dentistry covers whole range of dental treatments we provide at Prahran Family Dental. It is mainly designed to ultimately to provide excellent oral health and hygiene. Beginning with routine regular dental check up and hygiene program to extensive cosmetic or oral surgical procedures are included in General Dentistry.
Dental Bridge is a fixed prosthesis that is anchored onto the few neighbouring teeth to replace missing teeth. Porcelain Bridge can be highly aesthetic (often built in combination with zirconia or metal) to create a beautiful smile with natural looking appearance. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
Crown often referred to as "cap" is a type of indirect dental restoration that is fabricated in our dental laboratory to mainly provide sound protection on a tooth and to replace missing tooth structure. If a tooth has a large filling or weakened tooth structure, crown often is the best choice of treatment to protect the tooth to provide durable strength and integrity.
It is the process of removing a tooth or its fragment from the mouth. Dental extraction is needed when a tooth is infected, heavily decayed, destroyed or broken from trauma. I was looking for a dentist closer to home when I came across Prahran Family Dental. The clinics receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. I was seen by Dr Julie for a routine check up and clean. She was friendly, informative, patient and completely approachable. Not only that, but she is thorough with her work and took the time to answer all my questions and provide me with good advice to keep my teeth healthy. I have found my new regular dentist and couldn't be happier.

I really enjoyed my experience at this dental clinic. I had been putting off getting my wisdom teeth out and finally decided to bite the bullet and have them removed at this clinic. All interactions were really positive and friendly. Dr Jun was really kind and considerate of my nervousness . The clinic set expectations well and also followed up with me a few times after the extraction to ensure everything was healing well - which felt very thoughtful. For as long as I'm living in this area, this will be my dentist.

Recently had my wisdom teeth taken out. Don't have enough good things to say about the team and the facility in general. Everyone was professional, thoroughly competent, kind and compassionate. Each stage of the process was carefully and patiently explained, so nothing came as a surprise and the risks were well understood. The care and attention to detail also clearly ran beyond the procedure itself: the facility was clean, scheduling / reminders well-handled and support staff friendly. Terrific experience.

Staff here were helpful and friendly. Dr Jun was considerate of my anxieties around the dentists chair, was very informative and friendly in delivering information about the procedure and post op care.
The pricing was very fair and the great team followed up to make sure I was well once I’d made it home.

Incredible team. Polite, friendly, professional and impeccable at what they do. They are always kind, and transparent about costs (which I think are actually very reasonable as far as dental work is concerned). I had three cavities filled and they are hands-down the best fillings I've ever had. The cost was clear before-hand, Dr. Kim was gentle but extremely thorough. Helpful and cheery staff and Dr Kim is great - very thorough and great at explaining what is happening and why. Overall a great experience, especially for someone who hadn’t been to the dentist for a while. Highly recommend.

I don’t ever post reviews on google but I felt like this one was very much deserved. I could not recommend Dr Jun Kim enough! He is fantastic and the staff are so friendly as well. I’ve recently had multiple deep fillings done as well as wisdom teeth removal and they have exceeded expectations. The wisdom teeth removal was so quick and painless and recovery was fine - no issues at all.

1. Good standard of care.
2. Integrity.
3. Value.
This dental surgery has all of the above. The reason I changed to them is that my old dentist is far away now. I was worried I wouldn't find anyone as good.
I was very pleased with Dr Jun's approach. He understands that not everyone knows a lot about teeth and explained everything in a way I could understand.
He did a thorough scale and clean without causing pain and was always careful to make sure I was comfortable. Outstanding.
