Services
The property gets its name from the spectacular view of a silhouette of a sleeping lady created by a number of the peaks in the Stirling Ranges. Locals tell us that it possibly comes from an Aboriginal story about a young couple who came from different tribes that weren't allow to marry. The girl ran away and was tracked down and executed.
The Chalet is a cosy 2 bedroom self-contained house set up perfectly for couples on a romantic getaway or families. The front verandah has spectacular views down the vineyard row and across the valley to the Stirling Ranges. A wood fire and electric blankets keep you cosy in winter and reverse cycle air-conditioning keeps you comfortable in summer.
Wineries - taste some award-winning wines at local wineries. There's every chance you'll turn up at a cellar door, being the only ones there, and have a relaxed chat with the owner or winemaker about the subtleties of this year's Riesling. Flavours of Porongurup Range Trail - located in one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world.
During the 28km Porongurup Rd section you'll pass Porongurup Shop & Tearooms; it's about another 8km from there. Drive north on Chester Pass Rd for 40km until you see a left turn at Porongurup Rd. Take that turn and drive for 1.5 km. On the left you'll see a driveway with signs for Castle Rock Estate and The Sleeping Lady.

Perfect accomodation for the bluff Knoll climb. A beautiful little cabin located on a wine vineyard with the Stirling national range as an Amazing backdrop.
Waking up to the mountain views was perfect.
Clean and tidy with all the amenities offered in good condition. Its clear that this is looked after well and a lot of thought and love has gone into it.
Also the fire was pre stacked 🔥

A lot of thought has gone into making this self contained 2 bedroom chalet special. The view is awesome of the vineyard and Stirling ranges. It’s next to the excellent castle rock estate. Walk to the skywalk. Enjoy the fire and quietness with no one around. Very private and serene. So relaxing. Host was lovely too.

So good, I had to write a review!
From the very beginning, Nichola sent us more than enough information, on getting to Porongurup from Perth, including things to do and see.
We had a slight idea on what we would do on our four-day mini holiday, but our expectations were blown away!
The Chalet is fully equipped, down to clothes horse to cooking oil. The views are breathtaking. The only noise is the birds chirping which is surprisingly refreshing. We were spoilt for local produce, and our only regret was getting Nichola's Cheese platter on the last day! We would have had it daily!
