Australia's biggest public transport project undertaken by NSW Government and Sydney Metro in coordination with John Holland CPB Ghella Joint Venture (JHCPBG) will deliver 31 metro stations to Sydney, constructing more than 66 kilometers of new rail. Stage 2 of the project will connect Sydney Metro Northwest at Chatswood under Sydney Harbour to new CBD stations and south west to Bankstown; a 30 kilometre extension.
WestConnex is part of the NSW Government's integrated transport plan to provide vital links to the Western Suburbs and Sydney International Airport. Once complete the motorway will ease congestion on local roads, connect communities and enable new public transport options. Stage 3A will connect the M4 and M5 motorways using a 7.5 kilometre tunnel between Haberfield and the new M5 in St Peters.

The NSW and Federal Governments, Transurban and the M7 Westlink Shareholders (the Project Sponsors) are building and will operate and maintain a tolled motorway linking the M1 Pacific Motorway at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 Motorway at West Pennant Hills - called NorthConnex. The nine kilometre tunnel motorway includes interchanges to the north and south to accommodate connections at either end of the project.
Sydney Metro Northwest is delivering eight new railway stations and 4000 commuter car parking spaces to Sydney's growing North West. Trains will run every four minutes in the peak, that's 15 trains an hour. Customers won't need a timetable, they will just turn up and go. Sydney Metro Northwest, formerly the North West Rail Link, is the first stage of Sydney Metro and will be the first fully-automated metro rail system in Australia.
