I've been in the industry for over 30 years now and for the last 18 years I've worked within Lawrie's Boat Services on the Sunshine Coast, where it began as a one man show with one shed. I now have four sheds, a chandlery and a talented team of 15 - 20 skilled workers depending on workload.

Ayla was lifted out by crane lift. After survey it was established there was extensive rot in the duracore composite which was caused from leaks around the fittings. We repaired all rotten areas, replacing the duracore composite and sealing with double bias fibreglass using epoxy resin. Whilst out Ayla recieved a full overhaul including a full paint job using 2 pack polyurethane AWL Grip topcoats and international anitfouling system.

I bought a 30 year old medium sized fibreglass yacht which needed repair and maintenance work. The broker recommended Ashby Boat Builders. I asked Adam to have a look at a couple of things immediately prior to purchase as I had Lawrie’s Boat Services slip it for inspection and a surveyor check it over for insurance purposes. I found Adam was straight up and down about what was required and the likely costs. I immediately sensed I could trust Adam as he is direct with what he says and there is no bull with him.

I could not recommend Adam and his guys highly enough. He really knows his stuff. The pricing is very fair and quality of work is excellent. My boat had been severely neglected for over 3 years and he got her running and looking great again. I wouldn't take my boat to anybody else. Very highly recommended!!!
