Our first home in the Wide Bay area was built in 1991, and since, we have been building quality homes everywhere from Maryborough to Hervey Bay to Burrum Heads, and all areas in-between.
PJ Burns Builder has been designing and building new homes for more than 40 years - more than enough time to develop and refine floor plans to not only be interesting but also to suit the broad scope of needs that our clients have. Below is our latest release of Standard Plans! We have individually crafted these standard designs because they are perfectly suited to the majority of block shapes and sizes in the Hervey Bay region. These plans also have been tailored to suit the majority of our clients - In most cases, there will not be a need to alter the design at all!

If our Standard Plans don't meet your specific needs, we hope that one of the below designs do. We have a prestigious range of specific single storey plans, double storey plans and we also have plenty of duplex plans, small home, and dual occupancy style plans too. You are also more than welcome to discuss the possibility of a Custom Design with one of our friendly sales consultants!

There were so many issues with our build and the responsiveness of the PJ Burns office was terrible. Through out the build our site trades and supervisors changed and no one wanted to take responsibility. We requested a meeting/phone hook up with Courtney Burns (owner's daughter who is running the show) and she fobbed us off to office admin staff in the hope they would sort our issues. Based on feedback from others this seems to be a recurring theme where the owners don't want to take responsibility for the company's poor quality and service. The first sign of problems and they go into hiding.

I recently moved in the my first home built by Burns Builders. It’s perfect, but what I imagined 😊
The team at Burns Builders are friendly and go above and beyond! They kept me in the loop during the building process and still check in. It’s great to know I was being looked after.

My husband and I have recently finished building our fourth home with PJ Burns on the Sunshine Coast.
Our experience from start to finish has been easy.
We spent time working one on one with their draftsman to create a home that suited our needs and lifestyle perfectly.
They were more than patient with our initial delays (bank) and were accommodating to our banks requirements.
Once onsite, our house built faster than expected.
We appreciated weekly updates from the supervisor and loved that we met everyone in the company and they knew us.
We would reccomend PJ Burns to our family and friends

Extremely disappointed in the after build service. We were advised on hand over to leave all non-urgent warranty work to the 12 month inspection and the office would follow up at 12 months. We waited till 13 months, after not reciveing any contact, after several attempts to contact the office (not returning phone calls or emails) we have been told that it is highly unlikely they will fix any of our issues.
Quite disappointing after we let a number of their 'mistakes' fly during the build. For example, there was a huge hole left in our landry wall which we let them cover up with a light switch

A big big thank you to Amanda, Simon, Shaun, Sarah and the rest of the staff for building us our first home, we love it.
Thanks for allowing us to upgrade our taps and splash back tiles, this makes it feel so personal and thanks for involving us making decisions while the trades were working there.
We recommend PJ Burns if you are looking to build your first home and would like to make some changes to the items and standard layout.
