Mulgrave Podiatry
Our practitioners are trained and skilled in the justified use of foot orthoses as part of your overall management plan. If you have an old pair of orthoses that need re-assessment or sore feet that you think may need orthoses, we can guide you in the best use of these therapeutic devices as well as provide a comprehensive assessment of your overall needs to help your concerns.

Gait analysis is one of the tools used to look at how your feet function when walking or running and are part of all assessment of soft tissue, boney or another source of your foot and leg pain. This analysis assists us in providing strategies to resolve your issues with gait re-training, rehabilitation or foot orthoses dependant on your needs.
Services
All of our podiatrists are involved in research as well as its practical application in clinic. Currently our podiatrists are consultants to a number of elite level sporting clubs in Melbourne including; Dandenong Stingrays and Eastern Ranges TAC Cup male and female teams, Nunawading City Football Clubs, Dandenong Ranges Basketball, Victorian Gymnastics and Victorian Cricket (Women's).
All initial assessments are 40 minutes so we can adequately assess, diagnose and treat the concern that you are having. You will be greeted by our reception staff and fill a new patient form. A podiatrist will assess and discuss what they believe is causing your issues. You will likely leave with some form of initial treatment and a review appointment to better determine your best 'steps forward'.
It is all very well to provide someone with a rehabilitation program, but without testing we are only guessing about what your progress looks like.

John has been completing research assessing the strength and its relationship with foot, ankle and leg conditions and all the podiatrists at Mulgrave Podiatry are well versed in ensuring that all of your assessments are quantifiable so you can monitor your progress and find any weaknesses that require addressing.
As part of your initial and ongoing assessment and management we perform gait analysis and other assessments to provide the most effective solution to your concerns or problems. Gait analysis involves watching and video-ing the way you walk and run to see if any factors may be contributing to your concerns.
If you have diabetes then you should have your feet assessed yearly to ensure that any changes to the small blood vessels and nerves at your feet are monitored. This is important as your overall management may be affected by the results of any tests. Assess toe pressures which is the most accurate risk assessment of wound healing and risk.

This was my first visit to Mulgrave Podiatry. Having been diagnosed with Diabetes 2 a few years ago I had a few questions relating to my feet and any effects the condition may have had on my feet. My questions were addressed and that knowledge allows me to be more aware in the future.
Glad I went.

John Osborne was looking after my foot for so many years but April 2020 I moved house and further away from the area so I went somewhere else but didn't do a great job so 2021 I'll go back to Mulgrave Podiatry. Thanks John Osborne
