Sowden Building Solutions is a fully licensed and accredited sustainable home builder, creating high quality homes in Sydney's Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, and North Shore. As both a Master Builders Green Living Builder and a member of the Australian Passive House Association, Sowden Building Solutions is dedicated to constructing high quality, environmentally friendly houses.
Our passion for sustainable home building at Sowden Building Solutions constantly drives us to innovate and find cutting edge ways to provide environmentally friendly services. This deeply held value saw us discover the wonders of Passive House building in 2019, and since then we haven't looked back.
Hempcrete is a building product that ticks all the boxes and at Sowden Building Solutions. It is our choice for building material as it is an extremely sustainable way of building, creating a breathable wall system which is monolithic in structure. It has excellent thermal and acoustic properties, is termite and fire resistant and controls the humidity in your home preventing damp and mould - thus improving air quality.
We were looking for sustainable options in our knock-down rebuild to minimise our environmental impact. We also wanted to address social sustainability issues to meet our needs as aging owners and also those of our daughter who has a disability. So we decided on a single-storey concept with environmental features such as hempcrete construction, passive heating and cooling, etc.

Nick has the unique ability to design and build however that is not the end of it. Nick uses 3D software to communicate with his clients and to create a bill of quantities for your quote. No more looking at 2d plans that you do not understand. Nick has recently won a sustainable building award and is quickly becoming the best builder in the area.
