Ashgrove Dance Studio is a locally-owned, family-run business that has been part of the Ashgrove community for more than 100 years. Our studio offers caring nurturing personal attention, talented instructors and confidence boosting experiences. Whether your child wants to train for a performance or exam, learn in a casual class setting or just have some fun, Ashgrove Dance Studio is the place for them.
Our Preschool range of classes offer age appropriate introduction to Dance. In the classes, children have the opportunity to explore their creativity, imagination and self-expression while learning and developing the skills that are the building blocks for dance and movement. Classes are designed to be a fun source of exercise and a creative outlet while improving self-esteem and self-expression.
Fees must be paid within the first 3 week of the Term to ensure we can continue to offer classes. Our preferred method of payment is online via our Portal. No allowance for lessons missed will be made on term payments, although the lesson may be made up by attending at another time. Should you be experiencing issues making payment within the 3 week period a payment arrangement must be discussed.
All the required uniforms are available through the studio. A small selection of high quality new and second-hand dancewear items, including a limited range of shoes, are available through our studio's second-hand shop. Beginner's Ballet and Pre-Primary Ballet: A pink lycra leotard, pink checked skirt, short pink socks or tights and pink ballet shoes.
Payment-in-full must be received as directed prior to the commencement of show rehearsal to secure your costume. The performance opportunity is run as a professional theatre tour and as such is subject to entertainment industry considerations. Ashgrove Dance Studio reserves the right to alter the dates and details of rehearsals and performance experiences without notice.

Ashgrove Dance Studio is enclusive welcoming and imparts all the team work and discipline needed to bring a performance to stage with heaps of fun. Our little guy started dance at 3 primarily to deal with shyness and the fact that he was not that coordinated. Wendy and the teachers have great warmth and kindness with little ones and so many kids have gained a love of dance and performance. Our little person has gone to be a serious sportsman but we feel his confidence coordination and joy of movement was gained over 5 years of dance : ballet and hip hop with the wonderful Wendy Lowe

After trying many different dance studios around Brisbane I found Ashgrove dance studio.
They were very friendly and welcoming, including me into their 'family' from my first trial lesson to now 12 years later!
My mum has also danced with them for a number of years and now my daughter has just started in the toddler class and loves it!
Wouldn't choose anywhere else!

As a former student of this school, I would not recommend that you send a young dancer here. One of the teachers yells and screams at children who don't understand something in dance, to the point that my parents (and other parents as well) would drive home if they saw her car parked at the front of the hall. Another teacher was not keeping the students in order, showing a lack of care for the majority of dancers. Finally one teacher yells at parents, making them feel just as uncomfortable as the students. If your young child shows major (and I mean MAJOR) interest in dance, consider this school

We have had many wonderful years of dancing with Ashgrove Dance Studio in a very family friendly and caring atmosphere. Caters for high achievers and those who just love to dance for enjoyment. They also teach adults who have never danced before - it is never too late to start. They offer RDA exams and teach tap, contemporary, Broadway jazz, hip-hop and classical. Five stars.

Principals Wendy Lowe and Judith McCaffrey are warm, friendly, invitational and supportive ladies and only employ teachers who share their love of dance and take the same approach to each of their highly valued students.
Indeed EVERY student (and there are hundreds) is known individually by name and is treated with the utmost dignity and respect. The age range of ADS students is astounding! 2 - 80 year olds regularly attend classes in a wide variety of dance styles. Parents are an integral part of the ADS family and many perform alongside
