Childhood Psychology provides educational assessments for children and adolescents, located in Brisbane's northern suburb of Clayfield. We work collaboratively with children, families and their teachers to help identify reasons why children might be struggling with their learning in the classroom. At childhood psychology we only work with a small number of families at any one time, so that we can offer each of our families a high quality service.
Our assessment services can help identify issues including impairments in reading and spelling (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia) and mathematics (dyscalculia) in addition to behavioural concerns such as ADHD. Impairments in working memory, attention and information processing abilities may be identified during the assessment.

Our principal psychologist and manager of Childhood Psychology is Julie Steward. Julie is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA. She has worked for over 15 years as a child psychologist in community organisations and schools, in Melbourne and Brisbane. Julie has worked as a school psychologist helping children address home and school concerns.
Many parents are concerned that their child may be struggling in the classroom but are not sure what factors might be getting in the way of their learning. Learning difficulties are where a child experiences problems learning new information, which can significantly affect their achievement at school.
