The Victorian Government has just announced that regional Victoria lockdown restrictions will be lifted from 11.59 pm tomorrow for all Local Government Areas (LGAs) other than Shepparton. We can accept bookings from single households from regional Victoria (except for Shepparton) along with intimate partners and social bubbles associated with that booking.

Bookings from people from metropolitan Melbourne and Shepparton cannot be accepted. There will be a requirement for us to check identification to ensure that guests are from permitted areas of regional Victoria. Come and stay and enjoy the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of the Golden Country Motel and Caravan Park.

The historic railway station, built-in 1890. Mark Twain remarked when visiting "A station with a town attached". The station is reported to have the longest platform in country Victoria. Admire the highly polished timber ceiling and beautiful tessellated floor in the main entrance. The station is complemented by the Antique Emporium.

Owners are absolutely despicable, the Husband was a very cold unapproachable person.
The minute we arrived we were obviously profiled and made to feel very unwelcome.

A mediocre place with a pool, barbecue facility and play area and relatively clean rooms. The drawback is the lady owner that comes with a clear prejudice and follows you like a spy cam. Lapses in her keeping track of our email conversations and phone calls relating to bringing our fur baby spoilt our holiday mood with her pushing our buttons with rude, bossy statements. On holiday we felt like being dropped into a new workplace with a bully boss targetting you and triggering your anxiety. Wouldn't recommend if you are seeking peace of mind.

A very bad experience overall. A whole lot of miscommunications. Based on what we saw on their website, it was a right fit for us as our family is not fully vaccinated. Arrived there after 3 hours of drive with 2 very tired children, to be told they cannot accommodate us due to our vaccination status.
After some process and appeal the lady reluctantly agreed to give us the room but she then said we couldn't use any facilities like cooking or the playground! In the end we decided to return home.
Their covid policy doesn't say they don't accept not fully vaccinated guests!

Stayed at this motel recently. The owner Terri is very bossy and nosey. Our dog stayed with us and she demanded what we do with it, we know how to keep up with the well-being of our dog. We were accused repeatedly and harassed via text messages of speeding through the caravan park when we were maintaining safe speeds. It was if we were under surveillance constantly. It was not an enjoyable stay. Go elsewhere.

Reception to Golden Country was very friendly, very informative and welcoming. Terri was a terrific host with lots of good tips about the area. The villa was beyond our and was well appointed for a stay of a few days or longer. Everything was self contained and was fitted to a high standard and the all upgrades were in good taste. The location was within easy access of the town centre and the local golf club club was just across the road. We would definitely stay at Golden Country again for the hospitality and quality of amenities.

I loved this place cabins are amazing, Dirk raced Molly and I to the vet and Molly had to be put down because of the cancer, they were so amazing and supportive and helpful, they had so much compassion for me and Molly and the care was amazing, there is a great little community there and they care about you and your pets, may God bless them and their community, they are wonderful and the time there was heaven here on earth.
Thankyou so much Terrie and Dirk for your support and friendship and just listened to me when I was grieving for Molly.

A lovely home away from home. We stayed for months. Dirk and Terri became good friends. We were so impressed with what they have done with the Park since taking over. As well as being good hosts, they quietly help the local community too.

The room was dirty, ants in the bed, dishes not clean. We did get moved to a new room, but not much better. Bathroom is not attached and generally did not feel safe. So we ended up going to another place to stay and didn't worry about the money. This place needs a lot of work especially for the price, there are better caravan parks for an extra $20-$40.
