I've been training off and on at SKC since 2008. I like that you can work at your own pace - if you haven't got the time to commit to training regularly and grading for your next belt, you can still come along and just work on improving all of your skills and fitness. A couple of years ago I was able to start training again regularly, and since then I've been able to achieve my black belt, which was really exciting and rewarding, but you don't have to dedicate your whole life to martial arts to enjoy and get something out of training at SKC. It's a really welcoming, friendly, and supportive atmosphere

I've been training with the instructors at the Sydney Karate Club for almost ten years now - from the Kids Karate class and now in the Kaizen Ryuu Adults class. The Sydney Karate Club has a really supportive, welcoming community that makes it really easy to learn from instructors. As well as learning a wide variety of martial arts forms, the dojo's allowed me to develop more than just self defence skills - it's allowed me to increase my confidence and has constantly challenged me from day 1.
Wouldn't stay with a club for ten years if I didn't think it was pretty damn awesome.

I've been training here for nearly two years now, taking classes twice a week in both freestyle karate (Kaizen Ryu) and traditional weapons (Okinawan kobudō) under the instruction of Sensei Jonathon Gleeson. The environment is friendly and encouraging - no one is looked down upon for what they don't yet know, with all the instructors and higher ranked students willing to give advice and tips from their wealth of knowledge to improve your abilities.
New students are often taught slightly apart for the first lesson or two depending on what is being covered until reaching a basic level where they

Sydney Karate Club is awesome! There are so many different classes on offer and they cater to all ages and skill levels. I have been training here for 5 years now, and I love every class. The classes are energetic and engaging and most of all they are fun. we learn real-world skills such as self-defense in a variety of scenarios.
