Adelaide Psychological Services is a group practice of experienced Psychologists with qualifications in clinical, family, rehabilitation, health, child and couples psychology. Our psychologists are full members of professional associations including the Australia Psychological Society APS. Some are members of the Colleges of Clinical and Developmental Psychology of the APS.

Some are members of international associations. Are you depressed, stressed, anxious, or worried? We can help. Our understanding psychologists offer expert and effective therapy for children, adolescents, adults, families and couples presenting with a wide range of issues. If you suffer from a chronic illness, or pain or have been involved in a motor vehicle accident or workplace injury, then our rehabilitation psychologists can help.
Services
A standard session is 50 minutes. A course of therapy often involves six or more sessions. For information on costs and Medicare rebates please contact our receptionist or see below. We recommend that distressed clients ask their GP for a referral using a Mental Health Treatment Plan as this allows rebates for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.
Our philosophy on treatment is very simple. You are the client and you therefore need to be informed about what is required of you and why. We will educate you about the psychological principles relevant to your condition and improvement. We will not tell you what to think or how to behave. We will involve you at all times in your therapy and recovery.
Our rehabilitation psychologists accept WorkCover and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims and follow a team approach with other health providers to maximise recovery and return-to-work. When necessary we assist people to make significant changes to their lifestyle to make the most of their abilities.
Our rehabilitation psychologists provide therapy and liaise with rehabilitation coordinators appointed by the insurer. We collaborate with other members of the client's professional health team and we liaise with workplaces as required. We provide both early intervention for workers who struggle to maintain their roles, and rehabilitation for workers who have left the workplace.
We provide a package on self-management of chronic pain for people on a rehabilitation programme. The initial 6 sessions cover education about the psychological aspects of pain, the link between stress and pain, and principles to support self-management of pain. The programme includes an assessment, identification of psycho-social barriers to functioning, and a report to the referrer.

We have both Medicare chronic health care plan and NDIS approved to support my son’s treatment needs, as well as private health insurance covers. I just tried to find out what is the best payment method to manage this situation.
