Services
Established for over 25 years, The WA Performance School is Perth's premier performing arts academy. Based in Subiaco, we offer tuition in a variety of styles of dance, music, theatre, and exercise to students of all ages. Our philosophy is that dance and performance is for everyone, and the only pre-requisite should be PASSION!
About Stella Hui Stella Hui is an established professional performer, choreographer and teacher, and 2016's Optus MyBusiness Australian Businesswoman of the Year. With over 20 years of dance and performance experience, she has performed and choreographed for corporate functions, public shows, large festivals, launches, TV commercials, music videos and more, both nationally and internationally.
We are lucky to have strong community connections with other Perth-based performing arts and entertainment retailers and organisations. Kinetica is a circus, dance and acrobatics company based in Perth, Western Australia. Their young performers move effortlessly between the ground and air, combining elements of dance, circus, yoga, martial arts and gymnastics.
We are located upstairs at the Western entrance of Lords Recreation Centre in Subiaco. Due to ongoing development in the local area, we've found that some GPS systems can lead people astray, so we do recommend following our directions, or contact us for more information. We are proud to offer a wide range of dance classes, as well as classes in music, acrobatics, and drama.

All students have the option to perform at our End of Year Concert, and students who want more performance opportunities can join or audition for our range of Performance Troupes!

I contacted WAPS about their Crazy Circus party at fairly short notice in a bit of a panic as i had a group of 22 kids and nothing for them to do on a forecasted rainy party day. I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady who very quickly managed to settle everything finding us an entertainer even at a few days notice. She was helpful, kind and willing to answer many questions.

Thank you to the WA performance school for being so professional yet so magical. I have struggled finding the perfect classes for children. I find a lot of the times they underestimate them, that’s also what I remember I hated as a kid. The WA performance school has professional teachers with their own experience and they know what the children are capable of and they get the best out of them. While they work them hard the children don’t realise they’ve done any work, they just have a magical time and learn so much without realising.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality
I had big hopes for this school, but was dissapointed with the class for my 3 years old daughter. Another unprofessional teacher (in my opinion of ex - professional dancer) who puts some pop music for three year old kids! Overall, no structure of the class, no clear instructions for kids, and zero attention on kids themselves.

Awesome, supportive and professional environment to learn dance and music. Would recommend for children and adults of all abilities. Staff are enthusiastic and everything is communicated clearly. As an adult student, I enjoyed the opportunity to perform and the social aspect of being a part of the WAPS family.

WORST customer service. Very unhelpful and unresponsive to emails. I purchased a 6 month casual class but they wouldn't let me use my casual classes over the summer. I asked if they would extend my pass so I could at least use my remaining pre-purchased classes when the regular term started again. They said no. Then they literally ignored the rest of my correspondence. After weeks of nothing from them I went to ACCC and lodged a formal complaint. ACCC told them they can't do that and it was agreed that I would get a partial refund for unused classes given they were the ones not running any standard

We hired a performer from the WA Performance School for our son's 5th birthday party, with a "Royal" theme. Our "Duke" from WAPS, Joshua was amazing from the time he showed up (in full character throughout!) until he left an hour later (but felt much quicker, as both children and adults were very engaged). Thank you for making our party a success (and more importantly, less stressful for us, as we could concentrate on food knowing the kids were happy and enjoying themselves).

Dance, Drama, Singing, Piano and Acrobatics lessons for students aged 2 years to adult, all levels. No experience required for most classes. Location within Lords complex (at the Western entrance - access from Price St) means there's a cafe onsite too. Beware of confusing GPS instructions - best way to find it is from Hay St, turn into Tighe St, then take the first right into Price St. Enter the first available driveway on your right and you'll see the big purple sign on the building on your left. WAPS clients can use all normal Lords parking bays, but you risk fines if you park in a Meerkats bay
