Very friendly staff. The scones are extremely delicious. The cream served with the scones is extremely fresh and silky. Great to see they use local jams from the Beerenberg Farm just up the road. Will definitely return for another coffee and scones. On the other hand, the main menu looks awesome as well..... Watch this space

We spent our lunch in Hahndorf at The Haus. The host was very welcoming and lovely along with the rest of the staff. Seen in the picture below is the steak sandwich from the specials of today. The brisket was beautiful. Definitely recommend if in Hahndorf.

Tonight 11/11/21, my wife & I dined at The Haus. We were very impressed by the quality & service offered to us by the staff. From entry to the end, they attended to us in a professional manner. Our meals consisted of the Pork Schnitzel & the Steak. My steak was cooked to medium & I added a beautiful creamy green peppercorn sauce. The steak was served on a bed of potato mash. This would have to be one of the best cooked steaks I have eaten for a while so Kudo's to the chef. My wife had the Pork Schnitzel & it was served on a bed of Mac & cheese with a beautiful potato salad.

Definitely worth a visit when in Hahndorf. The food was first class, at a very reasonable price. We had arancini balls for appetizer, crispy skin pork belly entree and salt & pepper squid main, all to share. Meals were a generous quantity. A couple of negatives though. We were asked three times within 10 minutes what we wanted to eat, before we had barely sat down to look at the extensive menu. But then the staff disappeared and didn't take our order for a further 10+ minutes. We then asked for entrees to come out first, followed by main to share, but all eventually came at once. Yummy food, good environment. You can sit indoors or outdoors. I will definitely drink a beer when I am enjoying the German pork knuckle If I don’t have to drive after the meal. The service is also good. Waiters are very helpful but just some waiters were not so welcoming when we sincerely said thanks they didn't respond anything and then turned and walked away (several times). Pretty cool, isn't it? In addition, the waiting time after ordering was a bit long (almost half an hour). However, these do not affect me to give The Haus a five-star review.

Extensive drink options and solid menu options. International traveler friendly. We actually chose to eat here twice, as the food was suitable for vegetarians as well. This interior was modern and lacked character - so grab a bit here, then go across street to get back into the German beer hall vibe.

We really liked this place. It has a lot of food options. They have vegetarian and vegan options. It's a really big place but I would make a reservation. The service was good. There are many wine and drink options. A great place to eat. There are also some great tables to sit outside when the weathers nice.

I was pretty excited to visit this little German town outside of Adelaide, and the Haus was one of the restaurants I found on the internet people say to visit.

For one, I am not a fan of German food but I did enjoy the sausages. My husband seemed to enjoy the BBQ, they came right off the bones.

The service was good and attentive. The portions are pretty big, just like anywhere else in Australia. If you do like German food, this is a solid option.

Genuine hospitality and an excellent variety of dishes to please everyone make for a great dining experience at The Haus. Rather than trying out other local restaurants we found ourselves coming back for more several times. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are each a good option here. Excellent and very comprehensive beverage and wine/beer selection - both draft and bottled. Healthy juice/smoothie options at breakfast.

Maybe Mercury retrograde was playing some tricks on the computerized ordering system because some items were either delayed or got lost but the friendly and very helpful staff made sure

The place was busy when we arrived and didn't get noticed at the 'please wait to be seated' area for a few minutes. Felt like an eternity when you're hungry and plenty of wait staff walking past without acknowledgment. We didn't get a sunny spot to sit in either as this was all taken. We ordered a pizza each, but could have ordered one as they were massive.

I saw others taking theirs home in a box. Mine wasn't too bad but I think a bit expensive for $23. I didn't think everything had to be super-sized even though we were in Hanhdorf. It's a shame because

An unusual feature at The Haus Bar & Kitchen in Hahndorf, is the welcoming hostess outside, who will accompany you if required, this is a brilliant way to introduce clients to the restaurant Cafe. We have continually found The Haus welcoming, with an excellent menu, plus morning paper, and Wifi. There are four different dining areas with a variety of seating options. A recent addition to the large alfresco area that overlooks the street, is an opening adjustable roof. We ordered a late breakfast from an excellent menu, eggs florentine with salmon, scrambled eggs, with double smoked bacon, on

A great spot for some lunch whilst perusing through the shops in the main street in Hahndorf.

It's great to find a restaurant/cafe in the town that offers more than the standard schnitzel and sausage, this place has variety! Everything that our table had was delicious. The pricing is a bit on the high side, but the portions are GENEROUS and everything tastes amazing.

The decor is modern and fun, whilst also staying with the German undertone. The staff were all lovely, but the place gets really busy to make sure you book if you can or you may have to wait for a table.

Oh yes! The food is sooo good! My husband and I shared a breakfast pizza and a trio of sausages. We thought seeing as they specialise in barbarian food we should give it ago. We were blown away by how good our pizza it overshadowed the snags.

We couldn't eat all our food and were happy to know we could take it home with us!

This place is great for groups and families as there is a large variety of options on the menu that will suit mosts needs.

Had a great lunch here on Saturday. It was very busy but we managed to get a table for four. Service was excellent, fast and friendly.

The guys shared the massive meat platter (3 types of sausage, Pork Hock and pork chop, sauerkraut and potatoes). They did finish it, but not without serious effort. It was excellent, just humongous.

Us Girls went for the beef burgers , yummm! You can taste the good quality of the produce used to prepare the food.

As it is winter, I got the gluhwine, very nice and highly recommend.

A cool, drIzzly day in Hahndorf prompted us to interrupt our planned activity and instead, retreat to The Haus for afternoon tea. There were about 20 of us in our group but the staff had no problem with re-arranging tables so we could all sit together, even though it was very busy. Took a while to decide on our choice from the great range of tarts, cakes and pastries but once we'd finally given our food and drinks order, we were served within about 10 minutes by very cheerful and helpful staff. Complimentary water and glasses were also bought to our table. Very enjoyable visit but now I&apos

My Grandma and relatives had just recently visited from Jakarta (that's in Indonesia, for those sheltered beings - just kidding... but not really), and I took them to Hahndorf... On a 40 degree day. You can imagine their pain. I will never forget their faces, their begging, "what have I done to make you torcher me" expressions.

So we stopped for refreshments at The Haus. This was the first time I'd ever been too, and I can firmly say it was a pleasant experience.

Firstly, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly; there was this one guy in particular who was extra
