About Report

The Royal Hotel is a family run business. Pete and Kate have grown up working in hospitality and pubs. Kate had an early introduction to the hospitality business - She was brought up and worked in her family's pub, The Lord Dudley in Paddington, Sydney. Pete started out working in a pub in Balmain as a cellar man taking the deliveries and later moved on to work for another pub and became the licensee.

Perfect for intimate gatherings, we have areas within the bistro that can be booked for your next event. Friendly staff and the food was pretty good too. I wasn't impressed with mayonnaise on the steak sandwich but having Coopers Pale Ale on tap made everything better.

Way over crowded, they weren't asking anyone to wear masks when going to the bar, handing out food to everyone there during COVID. Security was too interested in talking to their friends then actually doing their job. I won't be back.

We had great food at the Bistro. My partner had the pork katsu and I had the bouillabaisse, both were well presented and very tasty. The bistro itself was light, bright and welcoming. The staff were attentive and efficient . We would definitely eat here again when in Bowral.

Great food and great place to take the family. We went there with our 14 week old and 19 month old and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Firstly, they only take double vaxinated people so you feel really safe.
Secondly, they go above and beyond to accommodate kids. The food came out quickly, they offered to sterilise all our baby bottles, and provided colouring in books and pencils.
Nothing bad to say and one of our favourite pubs.

Zero stars actually. Rude older man working behind the bar on the afternoon of Saturday 18.12. - will never set a foot into this hotel again and will definitely spread the word. Being barked at several times upon entry, unacceptable behaviour.

Excellent food and service. We went expecting a decent pub meal what we got was absolutely delicious and just as good if not better than a lot of the so called fine dinning restaurants we’ve been too.

5 Stars for Reschs on Tap. 👍🏼 Clean venue with a great food menu. Nice beer garden out the back, could have a nice lazy afternoon very easily.
