Daylesford Community Child Care Centre

Daylesford Community Child Centre offers a variety of child care options. These include: Full Day Care; Part Time Care; Occasional Care and Emergency Care. The Centre also administers a Family Day Care Scheme where children are cared for in a home environment by approved carers. The children are grouped according to their age and skill level as this allows the Centre to better cater for the developmental and social needs of the children.

Infancy is a period of rapid growth and learning, a period where there are indeed endless possibilities for initiating activities, which will foster growth and learning. In the Possum room we aim to provide a safe and secure environment where the babies' needs are met by responsive caregivers, thus enabling babies to form attachment with carers.

For children to initiate own play and select from the program provided the experiences that interest them. For children to become more aware of the natural environment (by fostering curiosity and offering a hands on approach to learning about the natural world.).

For children to develop the necessary skills to assist in the building of positive relationships with both adults and children - through role modelling, practice, following own interests.These being Visual/spatial intelligence, verbal/ linguistic intelligence, musical/rhythmic intelligence naturalistic intelligence, logical/mathematical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence and bodily/kinaesthetic intelligence.

We encourage a warm, caring, informal and fun environment for all children and families. A program of individual, age/stage developmentally appropriate experiences will be provided so as to meet the needs of each child. Throughout the day there are a mix of active and quieter activities for the children to choose from.

Families have begun to think about their choices for their child's pre-school for 2009. If you will be requiring care in the Goanna room, consider the advantages of having your child attend kinder at childcare. Integrated care - the Kinder program is part of the overall childcare program and runs within the centre hours of 8am. to 6pm.
