Active Computer Support is a Computer Service Centre for all types of computers and has a small shop with computers/computer accessories for sale. We are located in Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains on the outskirts of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. A.C.S. is open five days a week (Mon to Fri) from 9am to 5pm though onsite visits can be organised at other times.
Our Shop sells a range of 'Systems' including Laptops, Desktops and Servers, 'Parts' including hard disks and memory, 'Accessories' including monitors and speakers, 'Protection Equipment' including UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and surge protector power boards, 'Surveillance Equipment' including indoor or outdoor cameras and network recorders, 'File servers' including QNAP and Synology NAS and the NAS hard disks, 'Software' including operating systems, applications and utilities, 'Networking Equipment' including routers, wireless extenders, print servers and wifi adaptors, 'Printers & MFCs' from manufacturers like Canon and HP, 'Cartridges and Toners' for printers we sell, 'Media' like writeable CDs & DVDs plus sleeves.

Chief Engineer - Dr Jo Tibbitts received her Bachelor of Engineering - BE - (Electrical) from UTS and her PhD in Speech Signal Processing from the University of Sydney. Jo has worked in computer design and production, programming and test and measurement. She has been a treasure in the way she has managed to organised the company files and help Jo with Administration of the company.
Our Shop is situated in the commercial zone of Blackheath in NSW at 64B Govetts Leap Rd which is down the driveway at the rear of the building. The front of the building in 64A Govetts Leap is the business Patchwork Plus. The building itself has a heritage listed frontage and wood interior that adds a quaint mountains atmosphere to the stark metallic look of electronic products.
Active Computer Support has the facilities for Internet Access for public use. We have one Window 10 professional computer with Microsoft Office 2010/2019 for internet and office use including printing plus a wireless network if you bring your own tablet or computer. These facilities are available from 9am to 5pm five days a week (Monday to Friday).
Active Computer Support has Training Programs in all aspects of using and configuring computers available to the public. We have one-on-one training available either in the shop or onsite. We at Active Computer Support offer in-shop and on-site one-on-one training courses in the any areas. How to use specific programs like for example Word, Excel or Acrobat for specific tasks including setting up templates.

I have been using Active Computer Support at Blackheath for many years now and have always been very satisfied with their level of service and their level of expertise. I have recently had a lot of necessary work done on my computer system. I've upgraded to a Linux server for additional protection of my files and I also required an overhaul of my NAS backup system. My Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) required updating too. The staff members at ACS were thorough and knowledgeable and completed all required work within an appropriate timeline. Many small issues brought about by my upgrade were attended

This is the 1st time I have ever reviewed a business. This one is terrible, over serviced, over priced and held to ransom to pick up my computer. I asked for a quote and made several call to see how it was going and got just 1 on return. After 5 days they told me it was ready without having asked if I wanted to spend that much money. It would been only a little bit dearer to buy a new computer.
