Triggers can include: stress, poor sleep habits, colds and flu, alcohol, loud sounds or bright lights, eye strain and food preservatives. Often, chronic headaches are the result of neck or back issues: such as compressed nerves or referred from soft tissue tightness or inflammation.
Because the spine connects the back, neck, and skull, issues affecting the back and neck often have an impact on the head resulting in chronic headaches that can be difficult to get rid of without professional care and intervention.Having a chiropractic evaluation is a good way to determine if neck or back problems could be causing your chronic headaches.

Back pain is a very common complaint with approximately 85% of all adults having experienced some back pain.
There are many causes back pain, including repetitive motions, standing and sitting for long periods of time, car accidents, slip-and-fall accidents, sports injuries, sleeping on a too-soft or too-hard mattress, bad posture, and poor ergonomics at work or school etc. Poor lifting technique and carrying heavy bags can also shift your spine out of alignment, resulting in impingements on nerves as well as soft tissue inflammation.

Neck pain most often occurs when the cervical spine - the portion of the spine that's located in your neck - is out of alignment, resulting in disc herniation and inflammation of the muscles and other soft tissues.
Pain, stiffness, and decreased range of motion can all occur as the result of sports injuries, auto accidents, slip-and-fall accidents, carrying heavy bags or other uneven loads, sleeping on a pillow or mattress that doesn't provide adequate support, and long periods of standing or sitting.Repetitive motions like bending, twisting and lifting can also cause neck pain to occur, as can wear and tear and degenerative diseases like arthritis.

Sciatica is a painful condition caused by compression of the sciatic nerve, a very long nerve that extends all the way from your lower back down each leg. The most common cause of compression occurs when one of the spongy discs in your lower (or lumbar) spine moves out of its normal position and presses against the nerve as it leaves the spine.
There are several causes of knee and ankle pain, and at times, they directly affect each other. Knees are especially prone to damage from continuous wear and tear. Knee injuries are also among the most common sports injuries, as during sporting activities the muscles and ligaments that comprise this joint endure constant strain.

Been a client of Alex and Enliven Health for a good few years now. Aged 63 former chronic back problems man. I have been pain free since doing an hour a week and adding strength to my core. It should be compulsory!
Alex is a trained physio and is passionate about how Pilates fits into overall health. She specializes in womens health but has made my feel welcome and I cannot recommend her classes highly enough.
They have changed my life. Thanks Alex xx

I have been doing Pilates at Enliven Health for over 3 years now. I can't tell you what a difference it has made. I joined because I was experiencing backache and Pilates has been amazing for building core strength and because Alex is a fantastic physio, she tailors the workout to work for everybody, taking into account injuries and weaknesses. I truly miss it if I cannot go every week - Keep up the good work Alex

I attend Alex's weekly Pilates class and always enjoy it. The sessions are structured so that each exercise builds up in increments for all levels. This means individuals can choose whether to stay at a level or progress to the next one. I can always tell if I miss a week or two as I am far less supple and begin to get backache again. Alex's classes ensure I maintain optimum fitness.

I cannot recommend Alex enough, I have been suffering disc issues in my lower back for almost three years and was beginning to lose hope. I have been seeing Alex for a few months now for clinical pilates and physiotherapy and the results have been amazing. When I started seeing her I could barely walk for 15 minutes without being in pain, now I am almost back to my former active self. I have seen many physios in the last few years and Alex is by far the best. She listens to everything you say and she adjusts the treatment plan based on how you are on the day. I improve every time I see Alex and

Alex has fantastic knowledge of what is required to rehabilitate post childbirth 'wear and tear' and offers excellent support and gives personalised plans. The classes are relaxing, easy to keep up with and at such convenient times. In herself, Alex is professional and friendly and so approachable. I'll keep coming back! I just feel so much better for attending. Totally and wholeheartedly recommend

Alex is an amazing pilates teacher. She is totally professional, understanding and the classes are not big being just 4 of us in total it was perfect. Alex is very hands on which is what we particularly like being our first ever class and not knowing any moves! My mother who is (76) and I started on the beginners course and immediately loved it. We have already booked our next course and can't wait.
