ABC Dentistry is a specialist paediatric dental practice located in Buderim, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast. Dr Kylie is a specialist paediatric dentist. She graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1994, before working as a dental officer in the Royal Australian Air Force in Melbourne. After discharging from the military Dr Kylie worked in a large public dental facility at Tawam Hospital in the United Arab Emirates.
Treating babies, toddlers and older children is very different from treating adults. The most important part of kiddie dental care is for your child to establish trust and rapport with all members of our Buderim dental team. This is never immediate, and will be different for all children. In time, your child will develop confidence in the dental clinic environment.
For all of these reasons it is important to restore these infant teeth. It is not uncommon to have children who do not grow properly because they are unable to eat due to pain from the teeth. Baby teeth are very different to permanent teeth and there are very different approaches to managing problems that occur with them.
When we talk about children developing or reaching milestones there is always a range of acceptable dates. Generally the front teeth start erupting between six and ten months of age, and the back teeth between 12 and 16 months. The full set of baby teeth are usually present in the mouth by 23-30 months.
This "double row" of teeth usually happens in the lower jaw. This is common in this area of the jaw as the permanent teeth have formed in this position and have erupted without causing the baby tooth root to dissolve. It is often seen where there is not a lot of space between the lower front teeth (they are crowded).

Having read some of the reviews I was happy to take my kids to ABC dental today. Healthcare can be very polarising and so often people leave love or hate reviews.
Our experience today was awesome. Friendly professional admin staff. A great team and an awesome paediatric dentist.
Took time to consider my boys needs. Spoke to them, and not me. Especially regarding any painful stimuli.
Applied fluoride paste without asking - but then I am paying for the evidence based best care.... And I would expect nothing less - happy for it be applied just as I would them applying anaesthetic to my kids gums

Absolutely horrid experiences (yes more than one) with these people. We have a back stabbing lying receptionist who plays Chinese whispers with Kylie.
Hey don't try and be honest about booking your child in with another dentist if you can get in elsewhere sooner than their appointment, due to an emergency. You'll get abused and hung up on, and to top it off they won't forward your childs past treatments and history on to the next denist when asked. Also this dentist knew quite well that i didnt approve of Fluoride after past discussions in prior appointments. Booked my kids in for a check in regards

Kylie was amazing with our 3yr old daughter - had her laying back in the chair, mouth wide open and teeth done (this after her flatly refusing to even open her mouth for another dentist the week prior). I know there'll be no hesitation going back again! I also loved how informative Kylie was - talking me through every aspect and walking me through the x-rays etc to explain what was going on. So relieved we found our way to ABC Dentistry and our daughter was attended to so easily and happily. Highly recommend!

Initially I thought I had found an understanding dentist for my Autistic son. I did not feel this way upon attending. My son had the gas to relax him. It was not explained well, and scared him. Then he was told "it's not hurting", when my son got distressed during treatment.
"Ow" for my son can mean many things to be fair, but I was not given an opportunity to find out what it was(later he said the gas made him feel scared because he couldn't feel or lift his head up at all, he was scared something was wrong and he felt he couldn't breathe). Wow! What relief we felt after visiting Abc dentistry with our toddler! On the way out Evie declared "mum, i love this dentist!" She was at ease from the moment Kylie took her by the hand and walked her in. Having someone talk her through everything that was happening in a fun way made this such a great, pleasant experience. Love love love your work and will be back again for our next checkup. Highly recommend

My 18 year old daughter has severe Autism, severe Epilepsy, is non-verbal & extremely anxious regarding any sort of treatment (especially dental).
She has always required a general anesthetic for any dental treatment so these arrangements were totally taken care of by Kylie's amazing team.
The standard of service & care we received the minute we entered the practice was outstanding!!!
Now my girl has her beautiful smile back :))
I cannot recommend ABC Dentistry more highly.

After my 9 month old had a fall and hurt his mouth ABC made space for us straight away. I was quite distraught but the fantastic staff helped put my mind at ease and were perfect with my son and able to assess the situation and gave amazing care. He was all smiles by the end and it was wonderful to feel as though they really cared.

My 4 children have been seeing Kylie for many years, my 2 youngest 3 & 6 walk in with Kylie without me. I can honestly say that my kids love the dentist Kylie.
