Probably the most recognised role of a Podiatrist is the provision of routine clinical general foot care podiatric treatment and nail maintenance for people who are unable to manage themselves. There are various reasons that the once basic task of cutting and managing your own toenails can become a tiring or risky challenge.
Orthotics are devices which are placed inside your footwear and are designed to support, biomechanically align or improve the function of the foot. There are various types of orthotics, the most common types are (OTC) over the counter type and custom orthotics. Whilst (OTC) devices have uses, they are not comparable to the devices prescribed by Podiatry North in terms of function, fit and longevity.

Your feet have to bear the weight of your whole body. They enable you to walk, jump, land and run. There are many bones in your foot, typically 26 in fact. The five metatarsal bones (midfoot), they are relatively long bones, and are given names 1-5 from the first (big toe) largest to the smallest fifth (little toe).
Our practice is located within St Leonards Medical Centre, which is located opposite the Royal North Shore Hospital. It has ground floor access and is a short drive from the centre of the Sydney CBD, St Leonards railway station is also a five minute walk, a bus stop and parking on pacific highway is out front, parking is also available around nearby corner.
