Plantar fasciitis is a condition identified as inflammation of the fibrous band that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot. Its main role is to keep the bones and joints in position. The most common cause of plantar fasciitis is due to a faulty foot structure where the fibrous band is forced to overstretch.
During a biomechanical assessment we examine the way your lower limbs function while you stand, walk, and run, checking for abnormalities and possible causes of pain in the foot, ankle, knee and back. Through use of a pressure plated treadmill and video cameras situated around the treadmill, we accurately record your stance then walking and running gait.
Callous and corns are a build-up of hard skin as a response to abnormal pressure or friction. They can be caused by footwear, toe deformities or gait abnormalities. The hard skin of a corn is so dense that people often refer to them as "a small pebble" within the foot. Corns may be found between toes, on top of toes or on the soles of feet.

I have visited Katie on a number of occasions in order to address plantar fasciitis and other foot issues. I am constantly impressed by her professionalism, knowledge, currency, manner, personality and timeliness. Her rooms are spotless and well maintained. I would strongly recommend her practice to anyone requiring the services of a podiatrist.

My podiatry treatment commenced last year after a broken big toe & losing a toenail in a home accident - my first few treatments were aimed at stabilising the toe and ensuring that the nail regrowth was properly dealt with.
The toe recovered well in a relatively short time ..... in conjunction with the toe treatment, Katie provided such great general “foot maintenance” that I have continued with regular visits! It was in the course of this follow up that Katie and her partner Ben focussed on my very old orthotics - as a result I did follow their recommendation and am now fitted with much more

Both my children contracted warts on their feet this year. Katie is great working with children- she is patient and gentle and explained the products she uses are specific for children, not harsh and potentially damaging like chemist bought treatments. I know that my children are in good hands under Dr. Katie

I've been to so many podiatrists to treat my ingrown toenails with no success... until I was referred to Katie by a friend. Katie's warm, friendly nature put me at ease straight away. She explained to me in detail the cause of my problem and without pain or discomfort I was fixed! She is an expert in her field. Thank you Katie, you have a client for life!

Where do I begin?
Writing as someone with a physical disability, it's not hyperbole to say I give my feet a real 'tough time'. A few years ago, my then GP recommended the virtues of regular visits to a… podiatrist, and by good fortune, I was very fortunate to meet Katie.
From there, my 'tootsies' wellbeing irrevocably changed in a good way....forever!
Besides exhibiting an in-depth knowledge, Katie has an endearing personality which you just can't say about everyone in the (insert medical term) world. Quite often, I would unexpectedly turn up with heavily damaged feet (bruises, blisters
