Brisbane Orthodontics
At Brisbane Orthodontics, we combine traditional values with the latest innovation to deliver specialist orthodontic care with a smile. Brisbane Orthodontics is South East Queensland's oldest established orthodontic group practice, providing specialist care since 1967. We are passionate about providing quality and service, and pride ourselves on treating our patients with traditional values with the latest technological advances.

We treat adults and children with conventional braces along with Invisalign clear aligners and Incognito lingual appliances. We are proud to be a Black Diamond Invisalign practice which is awarded to only the very top providers of Invisalign in the country.
Services
Today, Brisbane Orthodontics is a team of six orthodontists: Roland Hammond, Steven Scott, Andrew Mackenzie, Elizabeth Fisher, Elissa Freer and Jane Harding - and over twenty-five support staff. In addition to the reception and dental auxiliary staff, Lesly our in-house dental technician, provides us with first class ancillary appliances that we use before, during and after orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontic treatment aims to align the teeth and jaws to promote ideal function and dental aesthetics. Malocclusions (or bad bites) have the potential to cause a range of long-term dental problems including tooth wear and difficulty cleaning. We also consider the improved quality of life a beautiful smile can provide our patients.
A disharmony between tooth-size and jaw-size can result in crowded, irregular teeth. Crowded teeth can be unattractive, be more difficult to clean and are prone to uneven wear. Crowded teeth are the most common reason our patients seek treatment. We can treat crowding with braces or clear aligners and your orthodontist can discuss which option would be best for your individual case, lifestyle and budget.
Protruded front teeth can be an issue of tooth position, jaw disharmony or both. In orthodontics, we call this an increased overjet. In severe cases, the lower lip may sit behind the upper front teeth and push them further forward to accentuate the disharmony. Protruded teeth can be unattractive and prone to accidental damage.
When the lower jaw is forward in relation to the upper jaw, the lower front teeth protrude beyond the upper teeth and an "under-bite" results. An under bite can be unattractive and can cause uneven wear of the front teeth and jaw joint problems. If a young child has an under-bite, we encourage a consultation with an orthodontist at 8-10 years of age.
