We get asked this question quite often when clients are considering a shade sail for their domestic premises. Do the council require development approval? Unfortunately, the answer is not a definitive one for every situation. The requirement for council approval will depend on the structure, the size, materials, permanency of the structure and which council you are in.
Awning solves our problem with direct sunlight and difficulty with putting up any other kind of shade. Service was extremely good. Very prompt response, helpful advice and friendly approach. It was refreshing to deal with a supplier who responded straight away to our request and kept us regularly updated on progress.

East Coast Shade Design supplied and installed a 5m hexagonal Skyspan Sunset umbrella in our pool area. Tim and the company would be one of the most thorough and professional companies we have dealt with. The installation went so smoothly for such a large structure. The finished product looks fabulous and works great in the location. I highly recommend East Coast Shade Design.
