ACT Optical is a family owned Optical practice committed to providing quality eye care services to our clients of Canberra, Queanbeyan and surrounding regions. At ACT Optical we possess our own fully functioning surfacing laboratory; here we manufacture optical lenses from raw materials to the highest standards in aspheric forms.
Our sunglass range provides our customers with a number of different styles, lens options and colours to suit any occasion; including a diverse range of scriptable sunglass choices. We stock a large variety of polarised sunglasses, including photocramatic polarised and all sunglasses come with 100% UV protection.
At ACT Optical we possess our own fully functioning surfacing laboratory; here we manufacture optical lenses from raw materials to the highest standards in aspheric forms. We are the only optical store in the ACT to own a surfacing laboratory. This allows us the right resources and capabilities to be specialists in high and unusual prescriptions and to also offer same day service.

I recently had an extremely bad experience with ACT optical and its staff, for this reason I do not recommend this business. I originally had an eye test which went well, the optometrist was professional and kind and my eye issues were identified quickly and a follow up appointment was made.
The second time I attended it seemed like we had caught the attendant on a bad day as she was very rude, passive aggresive and actually ended up yelling at us because we were 10 minutes late for our appointment. She also refused to acknowledge or answer my partner who is a black woman, and we felt that some

Excellent staff and amazing service. The optometrist was fanstasic. He was knowledgeable and thorough.
The owner and staff were thoughtful and helped me pick new frames and made sure i was satisifed with the colour and shape. They were also honest with how the frames looked and strove to find one that suited my face well even though it took 20 minutes.
Said frames were also super expensive so the owner lowered the price for me by a significant amount to look after me.
This was my first time experience with this store and i felt like i was treated as an old family friend.
