Nutrition Professionals Australia
Aged Care in Australia is at a cross roads. The baby boomer generation is moving in greater numbers along the road from work to retirement, health and allied health professions are dealing with the day to day challenges of increased demand for services that are already stretched.

And the organisations that we entrust with the care of our loved ones as they age are subject to more scrutiny, and in some cases, greater public distrust than ever before.Nutrition Professionals Australia is a team of Accredited Practicing Dietitians who provide a service across Australia and specialise in the nutritional needs of people as they age.
Services
Anne Schneyder and Julie Dundon established Nutrition Professionals Australia in 2001, and the business has now grown to be the most highly regarded aged care nutrition and dietetic services in Australia. In 2008, their program for electronic resources was recognised by winning the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) Presidents' Award for Innovation.
Anne and the team at NPA have assisted a team of Nursing Professionals who are appointed by the Department of Health in sanctioned Aged Care Facilities to return the home/services quickly to the standard as required and expected by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

We have found Anne and the team to always be professional, knowledgeable and have provided on-going support that allowed us to return to compliance in a very fast and efficient manner.NPA are continuing to support the organisation in 'best practise' care and services balanced by a delivery that also enhances consumer quality of life whilst maintaining a cost-effective balance.
Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) are University qualified experts in nutrition and dietetics who have the skills and experience to translate scientific nutrition information into practical dietary advice. APDs are committed to undertaking continuing professional development to keep up to date with the latest advances in nutrition and health so they can provide patients with the best possible information.
Up to 50% of residents in aged care homes are malnourised or at risk of malnutrition. These figures are somewhat less in the community but older people living in their own home or in a retirement community or serviced apartment remain at risk of an indadequate intake. Appetites are often small, there may be medical problems leading to reduced intake, or there may be difficulty in accessing nutritious foods.
We will then be in contact with you to make a suitable time for one of our dietitians to attend your facility. NPA is able to offer an electronic service for assessment and advice regarding your aged care residents via Zoom. This service is invaluable when you are unable to access a dietitian to visit your facility in person.
