Our philosophy is simple: Eat real, unprocessed food, mostly plants and of the best seasonal quality. We expertly craft all of our food by hand from high quality raw ingredients sourcing organic where possible. All of our cakes and pastries are also made by hand from butter and free range eggs.
Eugene hits the Sydney markets every week at 4am - his biggest source of inspiration for the weekly menu being the availability of seasonal produce and conversations with the providores. At Eugene's we are many things: your local cafe serving amazing espresso coffee and a la carte menu, your local food store suppling take home dinners & ever-changing salads to Bronte's families, and a space to be inspired by food - always loving what you eat.

During the last 18 months throughout this pandemic I have been a loyal customer of Eugene’s ...spending over $100 per week on coffee , sandwiches and cakes, every day I have appreciated the friendly staff and lovely atmosphere that my friends and I have enjoyed...however as of Monday 11th of October we will be spending our money and taking our business elsewhere...I was informed today that because of my personal medical decisions I will not be welcomed to sit outside their cafe to enjoy my coffee. This medical apartheid and discrimination is a denial of basic humanity. You do not know anything

Recently enjoyed a delicious, colourful, and healthy brunch spread at Bronte’s charming Eugene’s cafe with the quirkily named Kung Fu Chia (coconut chia and tapioca pudding paw paw, pineapple, passionfruit and almonds), Eggs Kosciuszko (poached eggs with smoked Snowy River trout on rye with hollandaise with salmon caviar and heirloom cherry tomato salad), Super-Kale-Rific green juice (kale, lemon, agave and jalapeño) and strawberry and tarragon soda, with a side of Double Roasters coffees. The wonderful food is equally matched by the sunny service

Went here for a quick bite to eat. Nice set up and quite busy near a local school. You can order off the menu but there's a fair few pre- made things there like salads, quiche, sweets. I got a takeaway salad; soba noodles, broccoli, broad beans and also the Beetroot, lentils and fetta. It tasted fresh, nice and healthy and the small size was a good lunch serving. I also got the mint, lemon and lime juice which was like a frappe. Quite nice - I should try eating in sometime.

Not a great cup of coffee...
Nothing on the menu for less than $6, with the median breakfast item price at $15.
Had gluten free toast with a poached egg. $9.
Good spot to bring your dog and sit outside while your car is serviced at Bronte Autos.
Overall, it's fine but wouldn't go out of my way to come.

The food here is really good for the price. I've stopped short of five stars because the service is patchy - while the staff are very friendly, some don't seem to know the menu very well, and we've had a couple of orders 'lost'. We keep coming back, because the food and coffe are both really quite good!
I love the 'rustic' decor (check out the light fittings in the ceiling!), nice light-filled large room with one really big communal table and a few scattered smaller tables.
They also do frozen meals that you can buy and take home to heat up and eat
