Happy Hire was established in 2017 by bicycle enthusiast Michael to cater for the popular activity of bike riding on the Gold Coast. Michael has a long history owning and working in bicycle retail stores and bike hire businesses back in his native New Zealand. Arriving in Australia in 2008, Michael worked in other bike hire shops where he used his knowledge and love of cycling to build a loyal customer base.

In Queensland, electric scooters come under the same rules as bicycles which means there is NO age limit.

We booked scooters and had a little accident, they held our bond and said will return it back to you if there's no damages, There weren't any damages, but they didn't return my $100 back.
Plus their contact number says out of service, and don't respond to emails.
Although the staff was very friendly but they haven't returned my money back which they said they would.

My daughter and I came into this store on Monday and I was impressed. My daughter was anxious but the staff member Jack, showed her how to ride safely and explained everything so well to her. He was so busy, yet he took the time and effort to make sure we were happy with our hire. Not often you come across a young person who knows what they are talking about and actually takes pride in their job. Will absolutely be back, awesome experience and just so much fun.

Hired two Ebikes from these guys. The place looks a bit dodgy but we got great service.
The young bloke talked us through the bikes and what was faulty on them already. We took them out for an hour and had no issues with either bike. Brought them back on time and got our bond back straight away without hassle.
Good mob, just need a bit of a refurb for both the store and vehicles.

Firstly, we were told a completely different price ($24) for hiring a scooter for one hour with two people, then was overcharged ($38) Was given a old broken bike with faulty pedals, brakes did not feel safe, you should check your bikes throughly before hiring them out.. we then went to return our bike to find the pedals had broke out of place, we had no clue as to how this happened as we followed the clear rule of not standing on the pedals. We then were ignored by the owner Mike when trying to explain we did not cause this damage. we waited around more than 20minutes and then when he finally

It was good at first, until they gave us a broken bike and made us pay for it. One of their employees, a short white with grey hair man racially profiled us and made us pay extra for something we had not done, but we couldn't do anything because we had no evidence. It was purely because we were Asian and they thought they could scam us. They ended up scamming us for $200 and I would never come again
