Aspley Sunset Motel is situated on the main arterial road on the north side of Brisbane, approximately 12 km from the CBD, and 20 minutes from Brisbane International Airport. The Brisbane Entertainment Centre is also a short 10 minute drive away. The Prince Charles Hospital and the Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital are both about 3.5 km away, and the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital is approximately 9 km away.
The motel is 900m from the Aspley Hypermarket Shopping Centre and assorted restaurants and fast food outlets, and about 2.5 km from the massive Westfield Chermside Shopping Centre. The motel is also only 250m from a bus stop, with a very regular service, right to the heart of Brisbane. The smokers should be moved further away from the other rooms. As the smoke just blew straight into our room from the smoker in the next room.
The "chat table" should have been moved to in front of their room instead of ours. Because their talking kept me awake by talking right outside our window (where my bed was situated).
More tea, coffee & especially milk (5 tiny capsules do 2 cups of tea) provided would have been appreciated. Especially when 2 people drink these beverages:
A) When they arrive at their destination for the evening
B) Just before bed
C) Before setting off on the next day

My son and I were stranded in Brisbane and needed a place to stay. Rob and his family were wonderful host. Very helpful and kind.
If more hotels were like this travelling would be a delightful. Wonderful people, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Believe me I have travelled the world and this is 5 stars all the way. If I'm ever back in Brisbane this is were I'd stay.

Don't fall for the above average ratings. Honestly, not worth the money, spend a little more and stay somewhere better located and with less road noise. Bedding didn't match and air conditioning worked eventually as it seems small for the size of the room. No milk provided and not the cleanest.
Owner called to offer a free night with details on email but it's 4 days and counting and no email received (yes I checked Spam folder). This is so disappointing and worst of all, all this on the day of a family funeral.
DO NOT GO THERE. Honestly there's better places to go.

I've just arrived home from spending 3 nights in this motel while exhibiting dogs at the EKKA (Brisbane Royal Show). I have traveled all around Europe and Australia, and I can honestly say that you will not find more helpful or friendly staff than Rob and his wife. The premises are old but clean, the location is not too far from Brisbane, dinner in the pub across the road was very nice and the hospitality that was shown to us was exceptional. Thank you for putting up with us and our dogs, we hope to see you again next year. - Gayle & Vera - PS: 3 stars for the Motel and the extra 2 are for Rob

What a surprise. The owner is a Diamond, she went out of way to help my wife and I and if you have a pet, please take care of their needs, clean up after your pet so in future all of us can have a relaxing time. Places as good as this to stay are becoming scarce and we will stay here again I a sure. Loved it.Air con works a treat, the little cortyard for our cat is excellent. She is stalking a Magggie through the window as I type this.

I am reviewing with 5 stars. Lets face it, you cant please all of the people all of the time. But when it comes to friendliness, service, price and cleanliness you can't go past this Motel. I don't know about you but cleanliness is paramount as far as I am concerned. Seen a lot bigger and better places that are dirty. I was visiting Brisbane at a… very stressful time and the Managers (Rob & Mitch) could not have been more personal, helpful and accommodating even though I was uncertain of my itinerary, they held me a room just in case I needed to stay longer and, as it turned out, I did
