When I think of luxury travel I picture crystal clear waters, pina colada in hand, enjoying local delicacies during sunset. For me, Mexico ticked all of these boxes. I had been pining to go to the Yucatan Peninsula for quite some time, keeping my eye our for luxury holiday deals. As I couldn't find an itinerary that was quite for me, I ended up booking most things myself.
This took up quite a bit of time, but it worked for me on this trip. I wanted to start in Tulum, as I had heard amazing things about eco-lodge Casa Xixim and they were recently featured in a luxury holidays magazine for their villas that are powered by a photovoltaic canopy, insulated by rooftop places and bordering an artificial wetlands system able to catch water waste.

It was when I first picked up a camera and learnt that photography could be a way to teach people about these destinations and get rid of any preconceived notions they may have about different cultures.
