Invision Eyecare is an independent, boutique Optometry practice that has been servicing the lower North Shore community since 2008. The original practice was located in the heart of North Sydney CBD on Walker St where it flourished for 10 years. In 2018, the practice moved 5 minutes down the road to the heritage warehouses of Middlemiss St in Lavender Bay, right under the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
I am the Optometrist and owner of Invision Eyecare. I am genuinely passionate about providing personal, professional and friendly service, and quality eye care for all patients. I've developed the practice with these values in mind and I hope you can see it when you visit!
I've had over 10 years experience in Optometry and have worked in many different practices and settings: from an Eye Care Centre in New York working closely with Ophthalmologists, to Aged Care Facilties all over Sydney.I have also worked with the Brien Holden Vision Institute providing eye care to rural communities in Australia and have done stints in multiple Corporate and Independent practices.

Detailed history - This includes your main reason for coming in, any other problems you are having, medical conditions you have, medications you are taking, past eye history and if there's any family history of eye conditions/blindness. This is to help us personalise your eye exam to your needs. Visual Acuity - This is the fancy term optometrists use for how well you can see the letter chart.
Dilated Fundus Examination - We use special eye drops to open (dilate) your pupils. Under normal conditions, your pupils can be quite small. This limits our field of view when checking for eye diseases at the back of your eyes (the retina). This is especially important for thorough retinal checks and for conditions like high myopia, glaucoma, macula degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
Myopia, or more commonly short-sightedness, is a common condition that affects over 1.5 billion people across the world! It occurs when you can see up to a certain distance but passed this, objects become fuzzy or blurry. It is becoming more common in children all over the world - with the number of 12 year old Australian kids with myopia doubling between 2005 and 2011.
