Myspine & Body Physiotherapy is a small boutique practice serving the surrounding community and supporting people from all age groups and from all walks of life to get back into action following episodes of injury or pain. The principal of this practice is Vickie Bonanno-Weekes qualified with a Masters Degree in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
Here at MYSPINE & Body Physiotherapy we do much more than seeing people with Spinal problems. We have years of experience in helping people with joint and muscle problems in Other Body Areas. Often associated with joint, muscle and soft tissue dysfunction related to poor postural habits. Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, knee injuries (sports and work related), knee replacements, rehabilitation after knee surgery.
We do a thorough assessment on your first visit so we can understand your area of interest and we can plan what we need to do to get you back to - work, sport, gardening, home activities, and other activities you would normally be able to do. We use our hands using a variety of techniques : Soft tissue massage, myofascial work, mobilisation of joints, neural mobilisation.
Your body generally sails along quite smoothly until you hit your 40's. From here on you start to lose muscle mass at the rate of about 1% or more per year. The loss of muscle mass is known as Sarcopenia. Maintaining your muscle mass is also important to keep your bones strong and healthy. Bone loss also gradually increases as you age.
Wear loose comfortable clothing to your appointments so we are better able to access the area you're having treated. Shorts are appropriate for low back and Hip, Knee and ankle problems. Singlet top for shoulders and arms. Bring XRays, Scans, Ultrasound and results. A referral is not required for physiotherapy treatment - however if you have a referral from a GP or Specialist, please bring it with you.
