Services
Zanthorrea Nursery was established in 1975 by the late Jean Hooper, son Alec and wife Jackie. Jean grew plants as a cottage industry in Gooseberry Hill to meet the needs of her busy Garden Design business. Back in 1975, Australian native plants were difficult to source for Jean's designs and Jean was a newly qualified Horticulturist with skills in propagation.
Australian native plants are well known for their unique beauty. Long neglected as garden plants in Western Australia, they have had a recent surge in popularity as water-wise alternatives to traditional garden plants. Plant breeders, both in Australia and overseas are developing cultivars and hybrids with wide appeal.
Visitors to Zanthorrea's gift shop are impressed by the wonderful selection of unusual products. The range is selected from local and Australian gifts, with an emphasis on organic, environmentally sound, Australian themed, and where applicable, fair trade and ethically sourced. Our talented team create attractive displays to tempt.

Such helpful staff. I was recommended to visit this nursery as I was looking for a particular Eucalyptus tree that I couldn't find anywhere else. They had 2 in stock luckily for me, but advised that if they hadn't, they would have taken my details and contacted me when one next came in. I'll be back again soon for more of a browse!

Well worth a visit if you have a green thumb, or if you have no thumb you can just relax a little, have a coffee and leave feeling a little better about the world. Its very peaceful and seems to have a great "Zen".
There a playground for the kids, or they can go exploring to find the fabulous sculptures dotted amongst the gardens, feed the fish or look for the frogs.
A very pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning.
