Services
People visit the chiropractor for varied reasons. It may commonly be for concerns relating to back pain, neck pain or headaches. But it can also be for loss of function and/or difficulty with normal activities of daily living. Issues related to balance, sports injuries and physical development of babies and children in their milestones for growth are other common concerns.
Within chiropractic there are many different styles and techniques. At Shirley Rd Chiropractic we use a combination of styles whose use depends upon the person we are seeing and their condition. The chiropractor can discuss with you the style and technique or combination that may be suitable for your needs.
At your initial consultation, which lasts from around 45 minutes - 1 hour 15 minutes, we conduct a thorough history review and examination to help determine the underlying cause of any problems. There is some paperwork to be filled out prior to the consultation which will assist in diagnosis and management strategies.
Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the nervous system and general health. The word chiropractic, from the Greek words praxis and cheir, means practice or treatment by hand.
Having reached intermediate care, you should now be well on the road to recovery. While most obvious symptoms by this phase of care are generally less noticeable, Intermediate Care forms a very important aspect of your longer term care. It is the time of care that your muscles, ligaments, bones and joints adapt and reconstruct to some of your new postural changes.
