Q-Ride is a competency-based training and assessment program that aims to ensure participants reach a demonstrated level of skill and proficiency as a motorbike rider. Basically, you train with us until our Q-Ride accredited instructors certify that you're competent under the Q-Ride criteria. You then take your Q-Ride certificate to Queensland Transport and they'll give you your relevant motorbike licence.

Prior to my training I had zero experience on a motorbike and the team was able to take me to a level of riding that was going to keep me safe on the road by building my confidence and awareness.

To complete the QRIDE 1 Day "RE" Assessment, you must have held an RE learner licence for at least 3 months (at least 1 year if you got an exemption from the pre-learner course) and successfully complete the Q-Ride restricted (RE) course. The Open Motorbike Licence (R) course is a mandatory 1/2-day QRide competency-based training and assessment program.
Here at the Australian Motorcycle Academy we pride ourselves on our ability to train riders to the standards we believe will make you a confident and safe rider, allowing you to enjoy your riding experience. We will guarantee to you on completion of your training you will have the skills to ride a motorcycle confidently.
For these riders, we have a simple refresher course to get you up to date with all the relevant changes and provide a little training, so you have the confidence and skills to smoothly jump back on the saddle. With professional, qualified and friendly instructors taking you through your paces, you'll be confidently and happily riding in no time.
Q-Ride training and assessment is based on competency standards as outlined by Queensland Transport. You will be trained and assessed in accordance with the documented training program and documented assessment process for Q-Ride training and assessment as approved by Queensland Transport. Q-Ride competency standards help to ensure that every learner receives the same level of assessment.
You must hold a provisional or open car licence and have held the licence for at least 1 year. To obtain your Learners Licence, you must attend a two day (12.5 hr) competency based Q-Ride training course. The final step to obtain your Learner Licence is to answer 30 questions and pay the applicable fee to Department Transport & Main Roads (TMR) once you have passed.

I was terrified when I showed up to AMA Qride on the very first day but Nik made me feel at home straight away. Nik was an amazing trainer, very patient and willing to repeat over and over until I picked it up. He also didn’t freak out when I dropped the bike 😣. I had the best of trainers named Nick who gave 120% to the whole class he worked with everyone until we got it right with no concerns for time frame I highly recommend the instructors working from the German club Gold Coast with morning tea bikes and all equipment supplied you would expect $500 to $700 plus but great news it was so much less I don't know how they do it but I wouldn't recommend anyone else beautiful people who give you there all and more with a love for bikes and a big shout out from Jason so great full and sincerely much appreciations you are all the greatest

A great experience from start to finish. The online booking was very easy and Rachel was very knowledgeable and helpful. The booking process included timely reminders and follow-ups.
The 2-day Pre-Learner course course was extremely thorough and insightful. As a no-experience rider I found it very enjoyable and easy to grasp the basic concepts. Tom, the instructor, was very friendly, patient and explained all of the procedures in detail. His knowledge and experience was invaluable.
I am definitely going to book again for the RE Course, together with the pre-course refresher.

I just completed a one day refresher, and then the RE licence. This was one of the most fun and enjoyable experiences I've had. Mark and Nick are absolute legends. Super friendly, they don't make you feel intimidated. And they happily take the time to support you in any way you need.
If you're thinking of doing any motorbike course or training, I strongly recommend heading to AMA Q-Ride. I'll definitely be heading back for further training.

I had NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of motorcycles and driving at all before the 2 day course and Mark and his team were absolutely phenomenal! I can’t express how great the 2 days were, Mark was kind, calm, and very patient with my skills. I would Highly recommend coming here ! Done my RE license today, what an amazing day, wonderful caring instructor, easy to connect with and ask questions definitely don’t make you feel silly for asking. Well maintained bikes. Great food and icy cold drinks. I feel More comfortable-on the road after doing this course.. Lady’s if you are looking at getting your bike license this is the place to go, you won’t regret it..
