Services
They decided to stay at Watervale Retreat because it was located in the middle of the Riesling Trail, enabling them to cycle the northern half of the trail one day and the southern half the next. Watervale Retreat was their favourite place on their holiday, cycling through six wine regions across New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.
We have 1 cabin which sleeps a max of 2 guests. A queen bed only and mobility assisted features such as grab rails, wider bathroom door and a ramp for easier entrance into the cabin. The cabin has a private carport, 32 colour television, sofa, dining table and chairs and seating on your own private balcony and easy access to our park safe BBQ.
Clare Valley has many annual events including Day on the Green, the Races and the famous Gourmet Weekend. While here, don't forget to visit a few of the cafes and restaurants and wineries; with such a large selection of wineries, there is sure to be a wine to suit any pallet.
For day trips out of Watervale, try Clare, Historic Burra, Mintaro (stop by Martindale Hall Conservation Park or Mintaro Maze), or if you prefer to play Mini Golf, visit their Nursery or cafe, then try Simpson Rices Creek in Auburn.Being in a natural bush setting, Watervale Retreat not only has Deer, Emus and Alpaca which are happy to be fed by our guests (well maybe not the Deer!), but we also see a lot of local wildlife.

We are available everyday from 8:00am to 8:00pm or by appointment. The reception room is located at the main house (just at the end of the carport). Please note that our reception may not be attended all the times as we may be cleaning or feeding the animals. We are however contactable by phone or email and generally available at check-in and check-out times.

The owners bake you a fresh loaf of bread every morning DELIVERED to your cabin still warm. The best fresh bread I had. Very peaceful at night, away from the pubs. The cabin was cleaned thoroughly and all amenities are provided including pots and pans for guests to cook a meal. There's also an outdoor bbq. Please note that Watervale gets really cold at night.
All in all, I believe this is the best accommodation you can find in the Clare region. The services are excellent and I will surely return again. Thank you D and T.

I can not rate Watervale Retreat and the hospitality Tracey and David bring to your stay high enough. My wife and I stayed 2 nights with our 20 month old son. We loved how it is hidden just out of the town centre but still so close to many other touristy towns and cellar doors, so there is still a lot to explore close by. You get a real vibe of your stay as you drive in past some old farm machinery and animals to your excluded very comfortable and extremely clean cabin. Thecontinental breakfast range is great, and the added bacon and eggs was an awesome bonus. There's nothing like waking up in

This place is an amazing little escape with the owners being so welcoming making it feel like home, with fresh bread every morning to the continental breakfast supplied in the room this is a perfect retreat. To look out the bedroom windows to see emu and alpacas and deer to then being able to help feed them is just a great experience. Perfect location.
