New Years Eve Harbour cruise on Sydney Harbour is a "bucket list" item! The Sydney Harbour Bridge commands centre stage with extensive and amazing fireworks, with the Opera House illuminated by lights and lasers. All while supported by choreographed fireworks spread along Sydney waterways on floating barges.
There is plenty of fun and action scheduled on the Harbour through out the day and evening. The annual Sydney ferry-thon race commences at 1100, with some old classic timber ferries, as well as new ferries cruising past the Sydney Opera House to Rose Bay, and return past Fort Denison to the finish line under Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Avoid the crowed streets. The incredible lighting spectacular of Vivid Sydney Harbour lights is best seen from Sydney Harbour. Amazing laser light images are projected onto the Sydney Harbour icons including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Fort Denison. All the buildings Circular Quay are ablaze in lights including Customs House, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
