After more than thirty years together, the time has come for us, Dr. Martyn Riley, Dr. Robert McGlade and Dr. Sandro D'Adamo to hand the practice to the next generation of orthodontists. Since starting in Moonee Ponds in 1981, the practice has grown to now include ten locations and we have treated in excess of 30,000 patients.
Originally from Birmingham, UK, Aidan qualified as a dentist in 2001 from the University of Sheffield. After lots of general dental experience in various parts of England, a few years of teaching undergraduate dentists at Bristol University, and completing an additional Master of Science degree, Aidan developed two main career goals - further education to become a Specialist Orthodontist, and to move to Melbourne.
Many of our staff are ex patients of the practice. They are friendly, knowledgeable and caring. We have a dedicated accounts team who can answer all of your questions regarding health funds, setup appropriate health fund payment plans to maximise health insurance rebates, and more.
Just like a game of musical chairs, some teeth may get pushed off, and hence become crooked. To fix the problem, we push the tooth back into alignment by making space. Well aligned teeth look good, increase the person's self confidence, are easier to clean and maintain for the long term, and also ensure the best chance for the bite to work as smoothly as possible.
Wisdom teeth are among some of the most commonly impacted teeth, followed by the canine or fang teeth. Left stuck, they can cause catastrophic problems, especially if they bump into and destroy the roots of the front teeth. Although there is a genetic link, impacted teeth can also occur when where is not enough space to fit all of the teeth in the mouth.
