Ray did his apprenticeship as a jeweller first class and precious gem mounter and was also trained as a pattern maker for the jewellery trade. Ray won apprentice of the year three consecutive years in a row. After leaving the House of Hawk Australia, Ray started working for Emil and Judy Braun one of Melbourne leading manufacturers at that time as a specialist hand make jeweller.
Engagement rings, wedding bands, dress rings, pendants and earrings are handmade in our onsite workshop. There is an immense difference between handmade and handcrafted jewellery. A handmade ring begins with raw material (for example, a 6mm square 18ct yellow or white gold bar). The metal is rolled out, soldered, hammered, shaped and worked to form a ring.
Always at the forefront of jewellery developments, Lingham's Jewellers is now also using the latest 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) equipment. Lingham's Jewellers, not only master traditional handmade jewellers, were one of the first businesses in Melbourne to purchase this technology. Our customers will benefit from this addition to the workshop - the Matrix 3D CAD software, for jewellery design, and the Revo 540c mill.

If your jewellery is not sparkling the way it should, it may be damaged or in need of a detailed clean. We will clean your jewellery and check for any damages at the workshop and have it back to you shining brilliantly. Jewellery is often in contact with skin, and exposed to wear and tear. Along with regular professional cleaning, there are steps you can take to ensure your jewellery lasts in top condition.
