Small Space Jewellery is an intimate encounter of the contemporary kind, first established in 2000 by Robyn Wernicke, who has been working as a jeweller and designer for over 30 years. Robyn holds an Honours Degree in Fine Art - Gold and Silver Smithing, completed at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and an apprenticeship qualification.
She is one of the few people who has a foot simultaneously in both the world of art and trade. She has lectured in jewellery design and manufacture at several places including RMIT, NMIT and Shanghai China where she developed and taught an extensive course covering "western design principles in contemporary jewellery".

Robyn is a master of her craft. I have had jewellery repaired, recreated old pieces into new wearable designs. The best so far is my engagement ring - an amazing design, I can't wait to see our wedding bands! Could not recommend highly enough. My partner and I have "special birthday" rings designed and made by Robyn Wernicke.

I have visited Robyns studio several times in the past for repairs to various sentimental pieces and family heirlooms. I have found Robyn to be an exceptionally competent craftswoman, one who has taken the time to work with me to achieve the best results with often tricky and fragile pieces. Robyns studio also displays the gorgeous work being produced by her and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a beautifully made custom piece to visit.

I’d been hesitant to have some costume jewellery modified because I thought a jeweller might look down their nose at it, but I didn’t want to attempt a DIY and ruin it.
Robyn showed a great deal of professional interest in the set and the story behind it. She wasn’t at all put off by the fact that it was of low monetary value. I had an idea in my mind of how the earrings could be altered to make them more wearable, but Robyn’s suggestion was much better.

This is a gorgeous little boutique! Robyn is lovely: really helpful and friendly and clearly knows her stuff. She's repaired a number of pieces for me over the past ten years: broken necklaces, rings requiring resize, bracelets restrung. She also made me a bespoke ring and hand stamped a bangle with some words that had personal meaning. I really appreciated how she touched in each step of the way to make sure I was happy with the way things were looking. I'm always thrilled with the results. Highly recommended!
