Services
Acupuncture is a method of treatment in Traditional Chinese Medicine* (TCM) which involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points (acupoints) along the body. The points are chosen following a consultation and diagnosis by the practitioner and aim to improve the circulation of Qi and blood and restore balance and harmony to the body when it is no longer functioning optimally.
At your initial appointment the practitioner will conduct a consultation, asking a series of questions regarding your presenting problem as well as other signs and symptoms. They will also feel the pulses and inspect your tongue to gather further information on what underlying pattern of disharmony may be present.
Try to arrive to your appointment early. This will give you plenty of time to complete any necessary paperwork and relax before your treatment. Bring a list of current medications and/or supplements, as well as any medical reports or results that may be relevant. Try not to brush or scrape your tongue prior to your appointment as we look at your tongue as part of the initial consultation.
Whether you are preparing to conceive or using Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART), our treatments may be able to assist optimise health and promote fertility. Many health practitioners may recommend Acupuncture as an adjunct treatment that may assist with IVF treatment. There is continuing research* about how Acupuncture can assist with the effectiveness of IVF treatment.
The modern western lifestyle is incredibly hectic, draining and overstimulating. Stress can be a healthy response to events in our life however prolonged periods of stress places the mind and body under constant duress leading to physiological changes in our emotional and mental health.

Acupuncture and/or Chinese Medicine herbs are both an integral part of Chinese Medicine Practice, which may help patients to manage a range of symptoms including stress, pain and fatigue. Some people turn to alcohol, caffeine, drugs, sleeping pills and antidepressants to help but they often only provide limited and short term relief, and exacerbate the adrenal and stress response.

I started having acupuncture treatment for hip pain during pregnancy. Little did I know how much I would benefit from seeking Michelle's help later in my pregnancy at that stage. When I developed cholestasis, I continued with the weekly acupuncture, also receiving needles to help my liver function. Once I had to be induced, I made sure to get the pre-birth acupuncture beforehand and ended up having a wonderful labour. I am grateful for the amazing help I have received, which has surely contributed to the fact that I could get relatively far in pregnancy despite having cholestasis, and has helped

Perth acupuncture experts Michelle and Ian both practiced as registered nurses before they specialised in Chinese medicine acupuncture for men and women. The amount of knowledge they demonstrate on both Chinese and Western medicine is second to none. A welcoming practice where you will feel safe, heard, and taken care of. I definitely recommend them.

Fantastic place! I was supposed to be induced with my second child at 38 wks but with Ian's help I actually got into labour naturally exactly on the day they were going to induce me. The 2 sessions of acupuncture, each of them week apart, helped also with a quick labour as the baby was born within half an hour of really strong contractions and minor tear, far cry from my first birth which took 18 hrs and major tear, wish I would know of benefits of acupuncture that time. Ian is a lovely charismatic person with a very positive attitude and I would recommend his services to anyone who is seeking
