The Blue Plate Restaurant Goulburn opened its doors in 1975 giving Goulburn a restaurant that had great service and fantastic food delivered by outstanding chefs. The restaurant seats 70 comfortably and has a relaxed atmosphere, with gentle music played to accompany your dinner. We have an excellent selection of wines and the menu changes regularly to keep our regular customers excited.

Air-conditioning didn't work, No internet, The outdoor light on the balcony stayed on all night keeping us awake, toilet wouldn't flush properly, wine glasses were dirty, some of the staff were very dismissive when I asked about the internet, one man was more friendly but still unhelpful, it was very difficult to reach our rooms, through a back door up a large flight of stairs and way down the far end of the motel, asked the lady behind the desk if a more convenient room was available as we had a lot of luggage and kids, the response was not rude but not at all willing to help in any way, the skirts

What a pleasant surprise.
The restaurant service was Grand, all the staff were tentative, engaged and friendly, they never missed a beat. We felt extremely comfortable as there was a warm feel about the place.
The menu had the perfect range of choices, with a decent wine list to match. Before our food arrived we found our selves watching every dish that exited the kitchen with keen interest.
The food is without a doubt the best I've experienced in Goulburn to date.
It's only taken us 12 months to discover this hidden Jem but we plan on making up for lost time.

I arrived in Goulburn very early in the morning with no booking (7am) after driving for about 11-12 hours through smokey conditions. Same as everyone this summer in nsw. Extremely exhausted I needed a place to stay before continuing on to Melbourne. I looked up 24 hour service desks and the Posthouse came up. I had stayed at the Quest on my way up to Iluka but coming back this place was a real find. Peter was a total legend and me in a room by 7.30! The room was spotless, huge and the staff were really welcoming. I stayed in the executive suite. Probably slight overkill for just one person but

Rooms are clean and modern. Bed is pretty comfortable. Reasonable walk into town.
Front facing rooms have very high levels of traffic noise, very difficult to sleep. The Foxtel picture is grainy and the screen is cropped at the edges. Shower sprays water through gap in door creating a massive pool of water on the floor. Menu is pretty average and expensive. Reception staff park under awning making it difficult to access rear car park if you drive anything larger than a medium size car.
