The Centre was built in 1986. It is a community based Centre run by a Management Committee made up of current families, staff reps and the Centre Director. The Management Committee makes decisions based on the best interest of the children, their families and educators employed at WECC. The Committee meets monthly, all enrolled families are welcome to attend and be part of the Committee.
Care for children can be arranged upon request and a light supper is provided. Meetings usually last 1.5 to 2 hours. We are a non-for-profit incorporated association. Our indoor environment is designed to allow children to move freely through the distinct learning areas which include, maths, writing, art, library, discovery, sensory table, dramatic play and blocks.

Woden Early Childhood Centre is a community-based not for profit care and education service. We are a 63-place child care centre offering part-time and full-time care for children from birth through to school age. There are four rooms that are roughly divided into age groups. Children are moved up when they are ready to venture into the next room and families feel they are ready.
Our daily rate is $125. For families requiring full-time care we offer a discount rate of $562.50 per week. Fees are set by the Management Committee of current parents and are payable for all times your child is booked for care, including public holidays. At all other times fees are payable. Subsidised fees are available.
Woden Early Childhood Centre is a non-profit, community based centre. The Centre is run by a Management Committee compromising of current families, two educator representatives and the Centre Director. The committee meets on a monthly basis and makes financial and policy decisions for the running of the Centre.
We strongly encourage all potential families to visit us at the Centre. During this visit, the family will be given a tour of the Centre, our philosophy and approach will be shared. Children are encouraged to visit on this day so that they develop a sense of belonging and are able to ask questions about the Centre.
At Woden Early Childhood Centre we are working on Gratitude and the importance children developing a sense of appreciation. Many of the quotes we find are truly helpful in reminding us how fortunate we are. The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude. At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.

Our daughter absolutely loves it here. The best thing about this centre is that it is very unique in that the children spend most of their day outside rather than stuck indoors all day. This great nature philosophy, together with great educators, amazing food and a very high staff to child ratio make it one of the best daycare centres in Canberra.

I have had my children at Woden Early Childcare Centre for almost 6 years. Throughout this time, my children have received high quality care, The staff are engaged, friendly and professional. They genuinely care for the children which I believe is important. The centre itself allows the children to be creative and explore (both inside and outside). I also love that the centre has chickens! The management of the centre is also friendly and engaged, so if you ever have a question or issue you want to raise, you know you will be truely heard.

Excellent childcare centre. The director Reesha is very caring and is attuned to the needs of individual children. I found the centre works well with parents. Healthy meals cooked on site. Loved the outdoor focus - the kids sleep outside unless the weather is really bad, which is much healthier, and the kids would also go on little treks and picnics to nearby parks. Nice outdoor play area. The educators also did a good job of looking for ways to extend the children's interests and learning. My child has loved her time there and made very solid friendships. Recommended.
