HOWLONG is an attractive riverside town on the New South Wales - Victorian border. The name HOWLONG is derived from the Aboriginal Native language, 'Oolong, ' meaning a haunt of native companions, (Brolga Birds). HOWLONG is situated in the Shire of COROWA.
Our Little River Town, HOWLONG, has a population of around 2,500 (Census) that is increasing due to families attracted to the area by the low-cost housing, nearby schooling for children, sporting facilities and the niceties of Country Living.Visitors come to HOWLONG for Murray River fishing, water sports, and after a good catch or water ski visitors can easily drive to the many local wineries of Rutherglen and North East Victoria.
